Im putting track fairings onto my blade for the summer and want to know what the hell is this set of pipes and what looks like some sort of catch tank for air???? It seems to be all connected up the same both sides and its something to do with the flaps in the air ducts i would rather remove it all as long as it dosen't throw up warning lights and make the bike run like crap. Ive never come across anything like it before
Different year that is, but i've looked at removing mine on the RR5 and can't work out how to get to the flap in the air intake, nor if i need to block anything off when its all removed?
ok apologies I have bypassed the flap valves in the air intakes on my 08 Blade. Simply disconnected the vacuum pipe at the T junction under the centre of the front fairing and blocked off the main feed pipe. 2 min job. The difference - much noticeable difference in smoothness in throttle response in lower/mid revs. No warning lights on dash. Well worth it. this was posted a years ago by another member..... but I followed it for mine
Nice one Rob ive just been out in my garage spraying my race fairings. When I seen the flaps in the ram pipes i thought why the hell would anyone want to restrict air flow ???? When im finished respraying ill be ripping this crap right off Thanks again dude Oh and mines a 2012 bike if anyone cares lol
hi all, just trying to get my head around this mod. if the vacuum pipe opens the flaps at 5,600 rpm and it is then disconnect does that not mean that the flap will always be closed. or am I looking at this all wrong? thanks mick
