Hi Guys, Without sounding like dumb f#ck of the year:blink: I want to know the purpose of ECV on the stock exhaust, I replaced the stock end can with a tasty little Leo Vince number :becky:i followed the instructions I removed the cable from the pulley under the seat etc. But nowhere does it say what the EGCA actually does!! I'm assuming that is restricts some of the power in lower gears or am I barking up the wrong tree?:D

Are you talking about the flap in the stock can ? Its just for sound regulations and smooth running i think

When i test rode my first Blade RRA in April the sales dude said that Honda fitted a valve in the exhaust to stop owners loopin the bike! Donno if he was blowin smoke up my arse! Saying that he would have said it brings you breakfast in bed to get the sale £1700 more than I paid for mine a few weeks later! greedy f#ck!!..

Cheers Guys! I just thought it's a lot of hardware for something trivial! with the cable and pulleys, would it not have been better if Honda use the money givin us a fuel gauge and gear indicator? they surely know that one of the first mods owners do is the aftermarket exhaust! Don't figure! as they now offer a sport pack Akra,Levers, seat cowl, hugger. where's the regs there

Well the bike is designed to keep the front wheel down but the flap has little to do with it if anything at all

flap has nothing to do with power control, there is a wee bit of surge when the flap opens but nothing that would be of any use in a straight knife fight in a phonebox (courtesy C Cox)

Its all to do with EU noise (and emmisions) control, if your fitting an aftermarket system or can wothout the flapper just remove the cable completely from the servo motor.
