They probably didn't put any copaslip on the shims when they changed the brakes. Take it back to where you had them done.

Squealing is usually down to no copper grease being used

No copper slip won't cause any damage.

It's unlikely but the squeeling could also be caused by using cheap pads, is that a possibility or did you get branded/OE pads?

Euro car parts are usually pretty good in my experience (used them for pads 2 or 3 times), the company I had a problem with once was CES but I've used them loads of times before and since with no problems.
Best thing to do is copper slip both sides of the anti squeel shim as it's only a hour long job, if that fails go for a new set of pads (hopefully not too expensive).

Ps, are they squeezing all the time or just while brakeing?

They haven't used enough or any anti squeal or copper slip just go back and they should sort straight away

in a past life when i worked in a local garage, we we're ordered to clean the hub that the disc sits on as any rust or dirt will make the disc vibrate making brakes squel !!
9/10 it was lack of copper slip tho

Well they won't re look at it as it has been too long since it was done and I should gone back straight away, fair enough I suppose but not the best customer service in my eyes.
May have a look myself and see how difficult it is but not over keen on playing with brakes

    Thanks everyone for the advice
