New rubber time. I wanted some thing a little more hard wareing than the Dunlop Sport smarts and so looked at the PR4's , I have seen many people on here with them fitted. I found a good price, Ride in Ride out for 265 beer tokens BUT was told that they will only fit them to a Blade if I will agree to sign a disclaimer as they are not approved for use on this bike ????? WTF any one had the same thing ?
Nope, the only disclaimer I've seen is the dude at our local shop not letting the young lad fit them to Dave V's carbon wheels... lol who is the tyre place? also ask about the £25 Michelin voucher most places have at the mo
cool.... strange one then mate, never heard of the disclaimer before.... and seen loads of sports bikes on pr'3 and 4's.... mine being one of them just sign it then I guess? if the worst happens you wouldn't claim of the tyre guy anyway would ya....
Never heard of disclaimer either Plus they very expensive at £290 before the £25 off Most online prices for that tyre in 55 profile are under £220 and then £25 to fit both
Sounds like a "scare you into accepting our recommended tyres that we get a nice kick back from the sales rep" tactic. Of course in this country you can't sign your rights away
Unless your going on track with them ,there's a 70 mph national speed limit so why they getting excited ,and you have paid top dollar as well . Believe me the tyres are first class and upto any German auto ban
Leeds bike tyres did mine two months ago, no issue fitting them at all, although the michelin website does recommend pilot powers rather than roads for blades, but that's no real reason for a tyre fitter to be asking for a disclaimer. Either way, they're worth the effort.
Got my dealer to swap out the Qualifiers that the bike arrived on to PR4s, to handle the mileage I do, no issues and no charge to do it. 2k miles in, every bit as good as the 3s, genuinely cannot say if they are better or not, but looking at them after the use they have had, would expect them to easily match the mileage I was getting out of the 3s on the old bike
Yes I was also told this. It just means the tyres are so new they haven't been officially given the ok for superbikes yet but as others said we are all using them just fine. I have done 2.5k so far and they look much less than half worn whereas I would be onto my third rear Pirelli DRC by this mileage
