hi a little confused..... spoke to a company about a new exhaust they recon its best to use command and have the bike Dyno tested after changing, however someone else told me the lambda sensor adjusted the fueling prior to reaching the exhaust so there is no need can anyone add to that please.....
Changing an End Can or a Full Exhaust can upset a standard bikes fueling. Lobbing it on a Dyno is only of use if you can then alter the fueling/ignition parameters to suit the new exhaust system and this can only be done by using a Power Comander/Bazzaz module or by having a new 'Map' uploaded to the ECU. All in this will add around £400-500 to the job on top of the Zorst!
The lamba sensor will alter fuelling but only on idle or tickover.. Without bazzaz or powercommader the fueling will stay stock when the throttles open as the ecu runs In a a closed loop .. If your flush fit some marinelli equipment.. Wow
I changed slip-on and dynoed shortly after that and bike feeled much better so i recommend dyno after slip-on change. Eku
My end can on the CB1000R was changed and my fueling is awful.... PC5 at Dynojet is booked in for the middle of this month with a custom map on the dyno done by Richard... can't wait.
I would say it totally depends on the make of can for instance scorpion say you dont need to dyno with there cans i had one for 5k on the blade and have just recently changed it for a full system. My cousin even runs his zx6r with a full system with no mapping done to it whatsoever and its runs fine been doing so for a year and a bit 6k on the full system when he gets some money he will get it done I personally wouldnt bother with a can cos ive done it so many times on all makes of bikes but if you want the full power then yes dyno it like mad i always get one eventually or personally first thing with a full system. If your not wanting to pay full price get the power commander/bazz second hand fit it yourself and then take it to the dyno. I paid £80 with military discount off my new mate now lol for a custom map and £160 for the brand new commander which i got from the states. But he would normally charge around £120 for the dyno if you fit it your self. So max power full dyno and for still good gains and better throttle noise and general coolness end can. But really just do it full system lol
