No prob mate. Looked on fleabay and a place nearby is selling cheap fairings for under £200 so I will probably do that rather than pay £75-100 for a new nose cone. Sure the quality won't be fantastic but it will do for now.
Well now have most of the bits, just a Gear pedal I am bidding on; delivery of a few bits; and a possible customs charge to go. Just over £600 at the moment so hope I don't find anything else wrong as I have spent all my beer and bike tokens for quite some time
It's a dear doo is falling off. You should be able to sell some of your old bits off though? As for the lever, i'm watching a Chinese one for spares. Have you ordered one,mor would you like to test it for me to see if it's any good www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281340083785?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Auction ends tomorrow on a new OEM one, if not I'm watching a few 2nd hand ones which are buy it now. Linkage I got 2nd hand from a German seller for €30 + postage. Hopefully the last of the spending, especially as I had forgot the crash bung in the £600, so probably going to end up around £700
Cheers Wedgie . Currently winning the auction so am committed to it, but will take you up on your offer if I lost it later today. Grabbed your mobile so feel free to delete from original post
No probs mate im off to knockhill tommrrow around noon so wont be able to post until Monday so let me know in the morning if you dont win and ill try my best to post it tommrrow cheers
Well won the auction, can't complain at £35 posted for a brand new in honda bag oem lever. Many thanks for the offer though Wedgie, was much appreciated.
I think we have discussed this issue before in the past...... Just to recap.....I got my knee down once, very closely followed by the rest of my leg, hip, and shoulder, finally my head, luckily I lived to tell the tale and at that time had a lovely girlfriend that didn’t mind picking gravel out of my leg for weeks after. That was a long time ago and on the road not the track so it served me right. I faired far better than my RD250 which tells you how long ago it was. In your case I think it was either over ambition or bad luck.
Pretty sure it wasn't over ambition, have been improving body position etc over about 5 training days. Don't think it was bad luck either. However I am pretty sure I have sussed why I went down. I realised that I have been using road riding technique of driving round bends, rather than going round on a shut throttle. It didn't happen before as with the speed and lean angle I had the tyres could maintain grip, but I think that as I progressed and increased the lean angle and speed that I went outside the circle of grip and the tyre let go. I watched one Scooby's video and had a euraka moment when I realised he was going with no throttle in the bends, so I watched some on-board videos of professional racers and realised they do the same. So hopefully I now know what happened and can move onwards and upwards
I always thought that overloaded the front and that you're meant to go in holding a neutral throttle. Am i doing it wrong?
Have a look at this, 20sec, 30secs and especially at the chicane at the end of the lap (about 1:25). The bend I dropped it on was a 90 degree one http://youtu.be/B9m4UPMcK5w
