That's right dudes new rules apply in October which basically means the old paper disc is now finished and all car tax will be on line or through the post office .
The usual threat of ?1000.00. Fine for getting it wrong will of course apply.
One of the main items that will change is with buying second hand cars .
You will not be able to have use of the remaining tax on the car and as such your " new" car will have no tax because the seller would automatically receive this direct ....Hence the £ 1000.00 for riding around without tax.
Go on line and check the new rules .

And we will all be held to account with ANPR cameras or through the DVLA computer. More faceless transactions resulting in fines.

We are the most surveilled country in the world and we don't even have the right to bear arms!

    An absolute joke

    Grrrrrr

If its true about the second hand car thing, that sucks! Guaranteed they will continue to only refund whole months... and you can only purchase whole months... so if you buy a car in July they refund the seller for August onwards and you have to buy tax to cover July onwards... so they get paid for July twice... cheeky bastards!

One advantage is that you can pay monthly so for the poorer people like myself its not so hard all coming out of one pay pack

Its funny Jay but since doing track days i just don't do that any more, for some reason it just feels unsafe:eek: In fact I've lost all love of road riding, maybe riding a new bike will change that...

Ah, but you can if they grant you a licence and you have a steel storage cabinet. Oh and have just cause.

In my case that will be owning land and for pest control, only I forgot to mention on my application that I consider pheasant shooters and the local hunt pests.
