well wat can i say received the bike from kjm superbikes im not happy some marks on bike appparently used bike and also its stuck in race mode this always happens states mick the salesman dont get me wrong the bike looks the biz but im p.ssed off with the lack of dealership help once you buy the bike thats it goodbye usual ass...holes bike is fast but its stuck in race mode which i will need to get booked in and fixed all in all i would stay clear of this company
I'm sure once sorted it will be fine mate, as a retailer they have a resposibility to describe a vehicle accurately scratches etc are difficult to argue but the modes should be working unless described otherwise. Write them a letter or an email explaining the damage and other issues and use the words "breech of contract" By law they have to repair or refund as you have notified them immediately with the issue. If they don't offer either option they are in breech of contract
Make sure any letter is sent recorded that way they can't weasel out saying they didn't receive, I'd go in person and give them hell
Best to keep in writing as then their response will also be in writing, if it does go as far as small claims court you have all the evidence
Not good news. As said write to the dealer and send everything recorded. If they call you write down what was said and send a copy to them. Key phrases to slip in are "not fit for purpose" and "not of merchantable quality." If you used a credit card or a finance company, even for part of the purchase, then you have extra protection and help available through them. Hopefully though the dealer sorts their act out and looks after you like they should.
oh no,theres slick mode after that, thats the best mode I take it there was no scratches on it before you bought it (assume it's a s/h bike not new),if so then take it back and tell them you want it in the condition you viewed it at,or a full refund as it's not what you agreed to buy. as for the race mode, not sure on that one, think I *might* have read somewhere about this happening,it needed a reset on the ECU or something, not 100% sure though.
rather than type it,i'll go copy off the manual.... 1. Power Mode: Rain: Power is cut to 150 bhp, reduced torque, and the throttle response is more gentle. * The braking force is applied to both front and rear wheels (partially integral brakes) * Rear wheel ABS operates even when only the rear foot brake is used * The system detects if the rear wheel is lifting * Wheelie protection operates * Reduces rear wheel spin * Increased traction and stability even when the frictional coefficient spikes suddenly * Bank angle throttle limit: 38 2. Power Mode: Sport (which is the default setting): Full power (193 at the \ crank, approx 183 rwhp) with a fast but smooth throttle response. * The braking force is applied to both front and rear wheels (partially integral brakes) * Rear wheel ABS operates even when only the rear foot brake is used * The system detects if the rear wheel is lifting * Wheelie protection operates * DTC is slower to intervene than in Rain Mode, so slight drifts are possible when exiting corners * Bank angle throttle limit: 43 3. Power Mode: Race: Full power but instant throttle response. * The braking force is applied to both front and rear wheels (partially integral brakes) * Rear wheel ABS operates even when only the rear foot brake is used * No rear wheel lift detection * Wheelie protection operates * DTC even slower to intervene so longer drifts and brief wheelies are possible when exiting corners * Bank angle throttle limit: 48 4. Power Mode: Slick (coding plug required to be inserted): Full power with an aggressive and instant throttle response. * The braking force is applied to both front and rear wheels (partially integral brakes) * ABS does not operate when only foot brake is used * No rear wheel lift detection * Wheelies allowed up to a lean angle of 23 degrees and for up to 5 seconds * Bank angle throttle limit: 53 this is for the 20120/11 model, the 2012- is slightly different, more power in rain mode, and faster throttle response in the last 3 modes
Just makes me wonder how we are still alive after all these years without all this electronic assistance, quite impressive I guess that most of us manage all that with just our brains, right hand and seat of our pants feel every time we go out for a ride.
it's called progress I suppose, you wouldn't want to ride a bike with the suspension/brakes/engine management/wheels/tyres/cable fed speedo/no EFI or electronic ignition from the 1950's would you? it would be the same argument from someone of that era today (or 15 yrs ago say).
Try removing the coded plug...... located under front seat...... disconnect battery and reconnect this might get other settings back working (Rain Road Sport) etc.... the fact they are not a dedicated BMW dealer wont help the cause.... BMW usually support main items failing after warranty under a "Good Will" cause but scratches will be between you and them to iron out.... dunno about "they all do that" try posting or looking on a BMW forum to see whos had sim issues ??
There's a bloke lives just down the road from me, Gerry-the-Clog (he makes clogs for a living. ) who rides around town on an old rusty 1950's 350cc Ariel single (I think). It's hard to tell 'cos the badge has fallen off the tank. It seems to 'fire' every other paving slab. He looks 'Happy as Larry' banging by, wearing shorts and shirt and just the legally required minimum of protective clothing; i.e. an old open face helmet. This weather, I sometimes see him, pint in hand, parked up and sat outside the pub' as I whiz by on my 21st century all singin', all dancin' computer controlled piece of two-wheeled technology. I swear he's stifling a laugh. Nick.
You BMW boys are spoilt!! I like how the different modes control braking, anti wheelie etc. as well as power. Thought it was just the power that they set. Good stuff that
obviously the ABS has to be activated on the bike for that though, most track/race bikes have it disconnected. zx10's have a similar set up,and no doubt the prilla, obviously the panigale aswell.
I know of a Forum member who use to buy all his bikes from them .. as they are close to us.......he once had a Blade that is now his Tracker that he rode for years and one year on the mountain in the IOM he couldn't understand why we were all going past him on other1000's.....so 2 Dynos later as he didn't believe the 1st one....it was pushing 98BHP....he'd bought a Baby blade!! ha ha. they soon repaired it and removed the restrictors from Import. ha ha.....going on member have a giggle.....you know you like the memories!
