Still very much the weapon of choice, but keep looking over your shoulder for them Nikon toting buggers, they're making a comeback...

Yeah without going off topic no doubt the pursuit for top dog will go on no matter what, I though do I wait and see what the 5D4 (if they do one) does, buy an old 1D? and so on, in the end I thought the RRP is down a grand on the release price of a few years back, firmware is fairly solid so I read, enough time has passed for the body to be well proven and solid, oh and Si talked me into it by PM...lol. A better camera would be waisted on me as I am just a hobby snapper that like to get day to day life shots and pics of bling on bikes, I want the 70-200 IS 2 f2 and that's it, maybe a 50mm prime too for the bag, should last me for another 6-8 years by that time sensor tech will have jumped to another level.

I see them in here day in and day out and ignoring the Nikon/Canon debate, I dopn't think there's a better all round camera than the 5D. The new 1D focusses a bit faster and, of course you can use it like a machine gun, but those capabilities are useful to only a small group of users. The 5D is like the old 600F, when all taken into account. Does 'everything' better than anything else can do 'everything'.

Wow! Amazing shots! Not only does it show you the difference between standard cheap glass (what I am forced to use :() and proper expensive glass - it also shows you that the person taking the shots and the composition means just as much. :)
