Right now I don't need to wear glasses all the time after my 2 cataract ops I was looking for s good pair of Sunglasses. I have 2 Oakley pairs 1 set I've had for over 10 years and another about 6 years old.

Just wanted some feedback on a decent pair as I was looking while on holiday and seen a nice pair of Prada sunnys Prada E-Store · Man · Sunglasses · Linea Rossa Eyewear SPS51O_E5AV_F01C0

But I like the look of the Serengeti sunglasses like these but no where local to try before I buy http://www.serengeti-europe.co.uk/products/granada/metallic-gun

Just wondering what people would recommend. awaiting some funny replies but in all honesty just want a good pair of glasses. I've had cheap sunnys which don't last long. And as I said when I get some I do keep them for a while.

    So any recommendations

I'm still wearing my 6 year old Ben Shermans. Still have a pair of Ray Bans from 1991 as well

Probably not the best person to ask about new sunglasses lol

    But seriously...

I am a bit of a sun glasses junkie but am very particular about which I choose. Currently, I'm mostly wearing my Maui Jims,

    Maui-Jim.jpg

They're great in the car with the roof off, polarised and slightly mirrored at the top and bottom of the lenses to back off the sky and reflected road glare. Great for wet roads. Not much side protection as they're not true wraps, but I've got a small head and proper wraps don't work well for me anyway.

I've got three classic pairs of Ray Bans, which I love equally.

One, I'm afraid I don't know the model name of and they're no longer made, but look very similar to this. I like to wear them for intimidation purposes. They make you look like you're in a bad mood all the time.

My first pair, wire templed aviators with a ring bridge, from the '70s. Built like a tank and repaired by me many times.

Then, of course, my original Wayfarers...

For the bike, I've got a pair of cheap and cheerful polarised wraps with a foam seal so no breeze gets around them. They're very effective and I keep meaning to pick up the yellow lens ones for night riding.

Glad to have another sunny fan on the forum. I spotted in writing that my budget was under £300 just in case I got funny replies. But as I said I look after my sunnys (expensive ones that is) and as I don't need to pay for expensive glasses after my ops I may as well enjoy getting a nice pair of new sunglasses

I have heard many good thinks about Maui Jims reading other forums. But I do not want to buy online as I want to try before I buy.

ken re your cheap sunnys for the bike I have used Wileyx sunnys in the kit car before I had a screen. As the one's I used are ballistic goggles I knew my eyes would be ok from stones on the motorway

My optician is a biker and he claims these are the best.

    Drivewear Lenses Explained

They're owned by transitions now, but then, I had to email the states to enquire about them. Within minutes I not only got an email back from them but also had emails from the two nearest stockists to me with details because the mother company had pinged them. Top customer interaction, I thought. The downside was they wanted nearly £400 for just the lenses.

Next best on my opticians list for driving was Maui Jims. They don't feel tough like my Ray Bans but they do take some stick and keep bouncing back.

looks good but pricey. And not that far off the type of lenses you may get with the Serengeti lenses. Why they are top for my list for the quality of lenses and what they can do when your driving/riding.

Ray Ban 8315 in carbon fibre with polarised lenses. Had then for years and so light you don't feel you have them on. A reasonable deal can be had around £170 or under. Highly recommended.

Thought I had bought these in 1991, realised it was actually 1990. Probably older then some of the people on here.
