Got standard battle ax s20's . Usually find it's when I'm on some very smooth shiny looking horrible Tarmac
They did slide a bit on exit in the performance bike recent tyre tests The reckon the M7 and rosso corsa Just hook up and go So that may be why you getting the odd slide, the s20 evo came 4th out of the 5 tyres tested on track and also 4th out of 5 on road? But had a reasonable write up so don't panic lol
Got 2,200 miles out of the back from new. Stuck wit same s20 till it's done again then the front will be done so getting a pair. It'll be between the metzlers or battle ax s20 evo or maybe Michelin pilot power 3 . Or pilot road hobbies. Decisions decisions
The Metzeler M7 came out as an excellent road tyre, I Will be buying that for for my off season road riding If you want nothing but grip I can recommend the Dunlop D212 gp pro, awesome grip on track and road but they don't last long
take your helmet off, that'll give you a good buzz, especially on those late summer evenings when all the midgeys are out
For a road bike wouldn't chose to have tc, like the challenge.... Until I started racing I'd only ever want a "pure" sportbike. That view has totally changed now when you get held up in corners then the guy infront pulls a lead because his 190 odd bhp kwak/bm opens up lent over and lets the tc do it's thing.... But that's a skill in itself also IMO
yep that's an option, however, part of the reason the big factories race is to develop new technology, with in time filters down to road bikes,no race development,no new tech. it's a tricky one isn't it,look at F1 now and the amount of technology in those cars, but gain it does filter down after time. I think there could be "less" electronic aids,i mean the bike knowing where it is through GPS and altering it's engine braking,or power delivery for each corner is going a bit far,but at the end if the day,if 1 team has it,then for you to be competitive, you have to have it.
Yeah I agree totally with what you are saying Scooby, its always very hard to retrograde tech, F1 though has banned some if its driver aids at least, but as cars are going to all be driverless at some point in the future, lets hope bikes don't go the same way to much tech is not always a good thing
If you really do relay on electronics to ride fast! Then you shouldn't be riding fast because you will end up being another statistic! If you ride like a numbnut regardless of conditions you will fall off! No matter what electronic you have fitted they won't save you from black ice or granny pulling out in front of you a few feet away! If you truly require TC you should maybe down size to something more manageable CBR250 or similar! And as for racing I'm not on the limit trying to shave 000.1 seconds off my time when travelling to work or competing with anyone on a country blast! I got myself a winter hack £300 Honda CB1 400 with treaded road tyres for winter and the Blades tucked up till spring so I ride all year round neither has TC or ABS and I don't fall off because I respect both bikes and the conditions I'm riding in, I use my savvy and riding skills every time I sit my arse on the saddle! I don't fear I respect and use anticipation at all times! That just the way I do things! And feel electronics can lead you into a false sense of security rather than being the safety net they claim! Your never really in control if you relay on them! And to be safe you must be in full control!
hence why I said not needed for the road, try reading my post.your not riding your bike fast or hard enough on the road to warrant TC,which is a good thing, but if it's available to me on track, which it is,then i'll have it thanks as it gives me a little bit more confidence to push myself that little bit further, making me that little bit faster.simple. unless your saying you have the skill to slide the rear out, spin it up on the roads etc then fair doo's,you have more throttle control and bike balance than I do.
Sorry mate but I think ur getting a bit nuddled what we were saying. We are talking in track sense and think I did put that somewhere. For road yes it's not needed bit in my mind a thousand cc bike isn't needed. If u look at most I say most track bikes/ race most ppl have tc
