Well having sold the r1 to Dave and not doing much road riding this year apart from the tour due to racing I had been considering giving up the road riding altogether.... For a few diff reasons tbh.

But knew I'd miss it too much and the crack with the boys on a Sunday blast out is too good to give up, so decided I'd change tactics and maybe keep the road riding for social civilised events

Wanted one of these for a while now and when this came up, specced exactly as I wanted, low miles at 2.5k and with every extra in the catalogue on it. Just couldn't say no...

Pick up Sunday! Can't wait.... Lets just hope I can keep up on it

Thanks mate, the bloke bought two, had matching one for his business partner as well as two blades and two v rods and an rt for touring hence low mileage and all the extras. Check this out from the advert lol

Stunning Speed Triple R with only 2500 miles on the clock. A beautiful example and a credit to it's one former keeper. Lots of Triumph and R&G accessories including a 3:1 full Arrow system (sounds superb), Triumph Flyscreen, Triumph belly pan, Triumph Seat cowl, Triumph LED indicators, Triumph bar end mirrors, Triumph tank protector, Triumph anodised front and rear brake reservoirs, Triumph comfort seat plus original seat, previous owner has also purchased another standard seat and has attached the rear tail pack so is just a case of simply swapping the seats rather than having to attach the luggage. 3 seats in total, one with seat cowl attached, one with luggage and another if you wish to carry pillion! other accessories include the Triumph Tank bag, aftermarket brake and clutch levers, R&G radiator and oil cooler guard, R&G double crash mushrooms on both sides, R&G clutch cover protector, R&G left H/S alternator cover and R/H side engine case slider, R&G Tail tidy. All original parts included in sale. This really is a stunning machine and certainly will not disappoint. Fantastic condition all around. Being a 2012 Speed Triple R means that it comes with the super light weight PVM wheels and carbon fibre trim where the current model Speed Triple R does not!

Lovely bike there Jimbo and you will have a right old laugh on it. When I was still riding on the road, I thought about one instead of my Blade. Took one out for a good test ride and what a naughty bike it was. It made me do wheelies (which I can't do properly at the best of times), the exhaust popped on the overrun to the extent I thought I was getting shot at by an AK47 and it just kept on making me ride as though it were my last 2 hours on this planet. Great engine and probably one of the sweetest engines I know. A friend has a 2010 model and he has done about 20,000 miles on it, including about 30 track days. Properly good bit of kit. ENJOY!!!!!!

Looks great  Good to see some more Speed Triple owners on the Forum - makes a change from all those BMW S1000RRs ;)

Did you test ride the standard one and compare it to the R? (In particular I am interested in the suspension - might upgrade to an 'R').

    Here's mine yesterday :-

Calming down Jimbo???!?!? Not on this you won't. Having said that, it was such a well rounded bike. If I were to go back on the road again, it would be one of these I reckon. You seem to have much more fun at somewhere near the legal limit. Oh and front tyre wear life will be measured in decades rather than months or years.

Erm ill confess... No! Ridden the 08 1050 and the newer one same as yours and was impressed with both. The 08 I've ridden belongs to a pal (two best mates who own both bikes I've ridde ) whos just traded his in for an R and both of them said the r was a big improvement suspension wise... So thought sod it, ill find out for myself! Ha

Know a few have struggled with set ups, but I'm sure the ohlins can be dialed in and ill get it straight round to my guy for a set up on the road so confident it'll be fine :)

Been a while since I've ridden the others so will be hard to compare but ill give you my feedback when I ride it home Sunday ;)
