Hi I'm just after some info on tyres, my bike has bridgestones on at the moment there hard in the middle soft on the outside, they seem like pretty good tyres but I'm not sure, your info on this would be helpful.
Hi good tyres I had the s20 and got 1900 miles and have now put the s20 evo on great grip etc... But let's be honest all tyres now are good although if you want more mileage I've heard the t30s are good for about 4k miles.
Wozza, I've got the t30's on, 4k miles sounds cheaper than 2k miles, think it's gonna have to be the same, I think it's the case I bought the bike 2nd hand so don't know the history of the tyres, probably gonna stay with this tyre but buy some new ones just for piece of mind.
I've run Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs / Pilot Power 3 for the last few years and get a lot better mileage than I have out of Bridgestones. I've just put a pair of Pilot Road 3s on (following recommendations on here) and they seem fine - should get even better mileage with those. If you have somewhere local that will fit them, cheapest place to buy is Tyre Leader : cheap tyre online, buy car tyres, discount tyres
I like Bridgestones and currently run S20s. Personally have never got on with Michelins, and their ugly tread pattern, but others on here seem to like them. I might be tempted by Metzler M7s next.
Might have a look at the michelins but if they've got ugly tread patterns I'll go without, can't have awful looking tyres on such a good looking bike, must be getting picky in my old age.
How do the S20 perform on the Blade? When I recently rode an S1000RR fitted with S20, they just spun up constantly at 8,000RPM. They just couldn't put down the power in the dry. Then rode an S1000RR fitted with Pirelli Supercorsa SP which transferred the power to the road without any issues.
They perform well for me, but I'm not a particularly fast rider. Done a few track day schools and they are happy at 10k+ rpm on the straight, and with being cranked over at lower rpm. On the road I tend about 7-9k rpm and haven't had any twitches from them. Would say these are not the OEM S20s that are fitted to new blades and people seem to have had issues with those. Also reports of mileage numbers aren't great and it looks like 1500-2000 is all you will get out of them, less with "spirited" riding.
