Well guys I've gone and done it! I've booked a track sesh at Knockhill tomorrow morning 9am-1pm as I've done feck all this year on the Blade apart from a couple of charity runs and a very very soggy trip to Northern Ireland so I thought sod it I want to have some fun before the inevitable winter hibernation! I'm taking my Drift so hopefully get some decent footage to upload
Enjoy trev, not sure i'd take my bike out on track as it's only a year old but looking at doing Ron Haslam school when i get some money together.
Hi guys I had an amazing day! Weather couldn't have been better! I'll get some footage up asap although is kinda embarrassing today was also a track club day so those riders were shared out into each category! I was intermediate and it felt like I was goin backwards most of the time I felt I was getting in the way so didn't relax and really get into a rhythm! I kept going wide to let the club riders blast past but I enjoyed it all the same! I did have a little ride through the kitty litter at one point but no moments to speak of
Knockhill is amazing I loved it I also had a run through kitty after the big right coming onto the fast left before hairpin totally cocked it up fastest I have been through gravel ever ha ha glad you enjoyed
The thing is I watched the guy in front take a bad line through the chicane at the back of the circuit and straight into the gravel! Then next lap I relived what he'd done and done the exact same thing! I knew I was mentally a bit slow but delayed target fixation com'n
In the end I was taking the grid on the left of the Kurb to straight line in then kink right loads bikes done exactly the same buddy at race weekend same spot
Great footage Trev.. Me and Danny going down there week tomorrow for the NM school with Mcguiness as a guest instructor.. Shitting my pants as this will be the first time the carbon blade will have seen a track.. I counted around 1min 13 for one of your laps, doubt I'll beat that but will get some Geo pro footage as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for weather like you got!
Yeah I'll be making a appearance mate on the 23rd to see Den,John and Niall! I know 1min 13 is pretty shocking you'll see that once you've been on track mate! I was riding defensively a lot of the time and I was constantly aware there were much faster riders than me on track and slowed up or moved over when I heard someone behind me so l was letting slower riders through as well instead of just concentrating on my riding! My 1st time on track with the novice group last year was way better than Sat because we were all in the same boat! Loads of the guys there on Sat had track bikes with tyre warmers on and were out setting their bikes up for racing a bit intimidating dude
Will be good to meet then! I can imagine I'll be defensive as hell as well.. and totally understand the intimidating bit! can wait to have a go!
