The new ZX10Rs have chocolate boxes and the frames aren't too clever in a crash either! A m8 lost 4th gear on his 2013 box and was told boxes are on a massive back order and even the BSB boys can't get them. He had to go with an aftermarket box and they asked to keep the old box so they could use it for spares on their race bikes.

No matter what bike you buy, they will all have some issue or other......a lot depends on how well they are maintained and if they get abused. The think with Blades is that they are robust engine and structure wise, so if you have a slide or normal off, the front headstock isn't going to break away or crack or frame bend (most occasions anyway). This is one of the main reasons why I buy Cat D road bikes to convert to track and I reckon Mark (Yorkshiregooner) would agree. Spares and race bits are plentiful as from 08 model onwards. As an example of prices, I have just built a basic track 08 model with full race fairing, rear sets etc and that is going up for sale at £4100. Another I have built with Castrol Team colours and 59 plate will be £4750. So you can see that it doesn't have to cost a fortune for a base to build from, that allows people to build on the basics to suit their own requirements. Hope that helps.

Thanks for that mate. Wonder what it would cost to get full suspension, quickshifter, rearsets, full system and pcv etc.

Fastest of the weekend in endurance was gary johnson doing 1.39s on a 675. Team prime factors were doing low 1m40s but they are national. Clubman endurance at oulton is between 1.48-2min plus. A range of times right across the board!

Be worth a good chat with Mark (YorkGooner) about used prices of ZX10's vs Blades (for accident damaged ones) - I am pretty sure the ZX10 was not a big seller as road bike but big demand from the race / trackday crowd = high prices for bikes / parts

If funds are a little light you may find they go significantly further in Blade parts than ZX10 ones

As folk have said here, a number of ready to go bikes soon to be available, or keep an eye out for a Cat D / C bike and build one up keeping eyes peeled on here for bling
