Yes, we voted no, thank Christ that's over, thought. I might have to get my passport out when I cross over into England, long may the Union continue.

The right result and an impressive turnout. Although I doubt many of the YES voters will be voting again having been left a bit disillusioned by the process no doubt.

I'm not much of a political animal and we've already established that I have little interest in broadcast news, so, in my own simple way I've been trying to rationalise what just happened.

I reckon that we just underwent some serious discussion about a divorce, and, once we realised, the complications of having to sell the house, decide who was getting to keep the dog, etc, we've agreed to give it another go with certain conditions.

We have to pay you more attention, buy you nicer things, compliment you when you get back from the hairdresser's, invite your mother to stay, occasionally...

And you need to take more care of yourself. Lay off the Buckfast and the deep fried Mars Bars, and stop seeing Mel Gibson behind our back...

Glad the UK is still intact. I think it is better for all parties, albeit there needs to be changes but then again most people know that. I really hope they keep their promises to Scotland.

I do not have any faith in any of our political parties and trust none of them. If they spent more time, money and effort on focussing on the UK and not what other countries are doing we might be a lot better off in many regards.

Wish they would put their own house in order before poking their nose into other countries business.

Im delighted with the outcome.... Hats to Scotland though, they have conducted this referendum wonderfully. Hopefully things will improve for the whole of the North not just Scotland.... Is it too soon to have a referendum on the EU...? or shall we wait a bit..lol

I can see some fundamental flaws in that campaign poster! There is no mention of whippet racing or pigeon fancying tut tut ;)

Good News - Salmon said he viewed this as once in a generation, if not once in a lifetime referendum.

Bad News* - Salmon has resigned so expect another bout in a few years.

*Can't believe I said Salmon quitting was bad news.

There's been enough political nonsense spouted all over the internet over the last few months so lets keep this forum free from it, thanks.

Well I voted Yes, but I think quite a few folk are getting confused with the issues of it.
It wasn't a vote against England or the rest of the UK. As I have nothing against any other country.
Just against Westminster, and that was my reasoning for voting for independence.
You knew when they started talking about promises of more powers that they are false.
And the kick up now is because promises were made without consultation with their own party members.
English people are rightly cheesed off too, being the only country in the uk not to have their own parliament with their own MP's. I think they should have that.
However I would still like the country I was born and brought up in to be in control of their own destiny and income.
I am not one who believes in their having been vote rigging and the like either.
I just think any and every country, if possible, should be able to govern themselves.
In saying all this, all politicians are not to be trusted.

Anyway, considering where this thread is ......... wtf are you buying or selling ? ;)

I'm very glad I don't need my passport to get to glencoe, glenshee and the awesome road from Braemar to tomintoul....I Love that road and every other road north of the M8 to ullapool. excluding the A9...that's boring and annoying truckers use it.

I wont need my tank bag now to put all the funny money in.
