Been offered a good deal on my SP1 against a 2011 Kawasaki Z1000 or 2009 XJR 1300 Should I ???? Grandson has been asking to come on the back with me!
I've Had a bit of a hard on for the Z thousand SX model. Ticked all the boxes when I saw one at millenium breakfast club last year "except it's claimed top speed" but especially on the touring side of things ride position etc. Yep, looks like im getting old....
Me 2 (getting old) but will hang on to the blade for a bit! Was going to px for ZX10 but really get on with the blade?
Don't be fooled by the riding position mate! I'd rather tour on my r1 than the new bike.... But it's bloody good fun
Yep, Know what you mean Jimbo. The blade " sorry not trying to hijack Bryan" was impeccable for just under 2000 miles again this last week. Loved it, honest, every minute of it. But when you've a sports tourer hanging out your arse on the N-260 in what looked like an effortless performance? it kind of leaves you thinking your using the wrong sized hammer to crack a certain nut. Incidently it was actually a multistrada. But those that understand me, know where I'm coming from
Hmmm... Maybe it's just me... And I've spent too much time on sports bikes. But I think the only way to crack Europe is with a great big fecking sledge hammer lol The speed is so comfy its unreal, get on it and you'll swear you could ride it forever..... Two hours in, it's just the same
Good SP1's are getting quite desirable. I regret selling mine, they are pretty special IMO. Not surprised the dealers offered a good price (for dealers). Whilst I love naked's they do my neck in with the wind blast at high speeds and don't give much protection from the rain like a faired bike. If I was going for a naked the Z1000 probably be in my top 3.
It's a tough one! What's the point in owning if you don't use it... But sometimes a special bike is for keeps? I'd NEVER sell my nc30....But get it if it needs to go... If love an sp in the garage, really would; but too many other priorities right now
I'd love an SP1 or 2 in the garage, regret not buying one a few years back when they were considerably cheaper. Had an z1000sx as a loan bike last year whilst the monster was having something sorted. Thought it was a great bike, rode really well. Handed it back early as was wrecking the back tyre Tough one mate- I'd personally try to keep the SP, but then I'm a sucker for holding onto bikes and cars and fast running out of places to store them!
Keep the SP, you'll regret it straight away if you part ex, my sp2 still gives me more smiles per miles than any bike has done.
