Anyone fitted one of these to their Fireblade (preferably 04-07)? http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Honda/CBR1000RR_Fireblade/2007.aspx shocktube
Yes had one on my speed triple for 2 years. But ought it before R&G had the rights to sell them. cost me £25 and as their is no prices I'm hoping it won't be much more. They do a very good job of looking after your shock but basically it it just neoprene with both ends sewn together so you put a cable Tie through it and that's how they stay on the shock Now that I know that I would rather source some neoprene and do it myself for only a few £££ hope that helps
to add after a quick google I would suggest going to a place that sell's wetsuits/fixes them and see if they can sell some of it. you would only need 20 mil extra on the ends and enough to wrap around. some velcro that gets sewn on the edges so once it's wrapped around the shock it sticks both side and cable tie both ends. Simples
Thanks guys. The reason I ask is R&G owe me about £20 but seem reluctant to credit the money back to my card, & instead are offering me the Shocktube. Problem I've got is they don't know the correct measurement & for me to get them I'm pretty sure I need to remove the shock? As I'm not the most gifted mechanic (& the fact they would like the measurements by tomorrow) it's not looking good for me The only other item I don't have of their's is a Shark fin/Toe guard. Not really sure what they do and if I need one for a road going Blade?
Thought of one for mine, but decided they're a waste of time. Once they're on, they're on so if they get covered in s**t you have to take them off for a proper clean. At least if you don't have one, you can get into the shock with a brush and give it a proper clean. I would spend your credit on something else mate
Thanks Dan, I guess you're talking about the Shark fin Is it worth spending my credit on the fin/guard as I seem to have all the other bolt on items from R&G for my bike?
May as well mate . Gives the Racer look i suppose . Only reason i aint bought 1 my self is i want a GB Racing fin to match my paddock stands and engine guards when i get them
Here are R&G's fitting instructions for the Shocktube, but I'll do my best to do a write up when I get time to fit it: http://www.rg-racing.com/Images/Products/ProductFields/pdf1091_52.pdf
