Bit of a rant but..............wtf are those 'polite' Hi Viz jackets all about ? I understand Hi Viz for safety reasons etc etc,not my cup of tea but each to their own. However why the f@@k would anyone want to look a copper ( unless your getting paid to look like a kn@b) Why why why ? Some kn@b on a ZZR1400 came up behind me today with a white helmet a Hi Viz with blue & white chevron stripes, I immediately shit............ Then I remember that REAL coppers are snide f@@kers and ride in black leathers black lid and black blades So why wear a Hi Viz with 'polite' written on it ??!!
Owning a large white and blue bike I can honestly say it makes a major contribution to the room made for me while filtering...
I'm not so quite anti copper as you mate but think these folk that do this are total and utter W A N K E R S!!!!
They took the idea from the horse riding community, so not even original wannabees* Well unless the want to be horse riders lol
You wear these bibs for one reason only, and that's to appear like the old bill, no other reason, plain and simple. Regularly see a tool on the A2 on a Beamer with all the checkerboard tape on the fairings, extra lights and the hi viz and white helmet with checkerboard tape........complete wannabe hobby bobby.
I'm surprise the police wouldnt have something to say that about as it looks far to close to their gear.
Can I camp on your thread Andy and mention the BMW GS brigade that always feel the need to pass any sports bike. They must have some sort of complex but I'm not sure which. On another rant, why can't other riders that aren't too quick just move over and stop holding quicker riders up?
If you report them the police will have to act......It's a serious offence impersonating a police officer!
To be honest i don't think they do, the '' wannabe '' brigade have a touch of mental illness and as such are not 100% responsible for their actions. The sad bastards no doubt live with their mum and have Wham pictures still on their bedroom wall (don't we all !), best to just shake your head at them and don't give them another thought.
Trouble is when they are in your mirrors you can't ignore them. I came across two today, with their checkered reflective jackets. They must want to live in a bubble of legality and/or want cars to move over for them.
Just read this on MCN from June 2013 Motorcyclists can join POLITE force - General News | Motorcycle News | Bike News | Motorbike Videos | MCN I agree, total PITA when approaching, makes the bum hole twitch on first glance, we're not picking out full words when riding and you only got to see yellow and the letter P and the fine avoidance instinct cuts in. But.... Reading through you got to admire the creativity of them for actively encouraging peeps to pay their £24.99 just for the privalige of wearing one. I mean, why spend ££££££ a day on a traffic officers when you can put a 'polite' motorcyclist on the road 'who roames the same routes as other bikers' for a one off payment of £25 & judging by previous comments, appears to be having the same effect.
Totally agree with everything said , as if we ain't got enough keeping our eyes peeled for without some tit pretending to look like a cop biker. Middle age saddo's ! Proballly train spotters as well. Surely they know they shit some folk up
