Every time you see one at a bikers stop beat the Crap out of them, they will soon get the message that wearing one doesn't make you safer
Next time I see one parked up I'm going to let his tyre down.Thats my POLITE message.Valve removal cap now in tool kit
Things like this always reminds me of this old story. Don't know if he still does it though following this story. Was a few years ago so I suspect he may have retired from what he undoubtedly saw as public service.
Personally think people who wear them should be locked away for their own safety and for those around them. If one comes zooming up behind me I might just have to have a chat with them ......a 'polite' one of course.
Had an HRC blade (08-11) behind me yesterday (obviously - I was on an R1 ). He seemed to be taking corners at reasonable speed, but obviously slowing down for the straights. Now whilst I sometimes do this myself in order to avoid racing and/or jail, this guy did not want to exceed the speed limit at all. He had a plain white helmet, which always makes me think of bacon for some reason. So was he a police officer? (if so, why didn't he stop me) or was he just slow? (if so, why does he have a fast bike) Either way, which one of you was it?
Not me. Right kind of speed, wrong kind of helmet. I can't speak for other's abilities but I had to work harder than I expected to in order to keep up with the police observer on a BikeSafe observed ride. He was on a 'sit up & beg' BMW too... I'm so frigging embarrassed...
