Noooo! Steve, I can't believe it, that's awful news. Really hope you and Tash get fixed up soon. If I can help in any way let me know. Bloody ironic isn't it how you were talking to me a few hours earlier about getting crash bungs fitted, can't help but think sometimes life is out to piss you off. I've sent you a reply Steve, but I will publicly say I am glad your both ok ish, gutted about your bike, I know a few like SPS have also had bad luck this year, it's so easy to run onto some leaves etc at this time of year, I wish you both all the best and hope I can help out, if anyone want to know wheel and or frame alinement then just PM me for the details, some great people around like Brian Parsons in Fleet who can roll wheels and much more, great engineers who work from sheds/workshops at home. None of it makes any easier when you have to pay for the repairs, sadly the plastics, clocks etc cost, I know how it is first hand. At least your both no too bad.
No way jesus man, hope you two are not out of action to long and recover as soon as! The bike can be repaired just worry about yourselves first!
Thank you all. We are both okay and home today. Tash ended up with 2 cracked ribs and a black eye (sustained through her crash helmet) after two nights in hospital to rule out any internal injuries. Me a black and blue ankle and bruises down my left side. Even the cops were remarkably kind to us and I've just been on the phone to one of the guys who turned up on the day. He confirmed we were both amazingly lucky under the circumstances. While we were both sliding down the road the bike followed us and hit a signpost on the verge and spun back into the road and slid into an oncoming car, luckily not causing too much car damage. Amid all that the bike or car didn't hit us as we both slid right through the path of the spinning bike and the car. There was a steep bank at the edge of the bend and neither of us made it that far and stopped before a potential tumble down the bank. I thought things Looked pretty grim when the road was closed and HEMS landed in the field next to us. Even the car driver gave me the option of sorting out his damage. Another biker stopped at the scene and offered to get his car and bike trailer to take my blade home. A nurse stopped early on and was really kind and supportive for Tash. The ambulance crew were first class. The staff at Chischester hospital were marvellous too. On Sunday night when I had been discharged and Tash was kept in they even found me a bed to sleep in so I could be near and didn't have to go home just to reappear first thing in the morning to be with Tash. Even after 30 years of motorcycling I have been reminded to go slow enough an round a bend to alter my path if necessary after I commit. I have also learnt that there's a lot of good and very decent people out there who will help a stranger when it counts. I have stopped and helped enough times and on Sunday it was a big payback by karma when I needed it most. Now I just need to fix up my bike..............

It's been a shock to her Kev, she will get on the bike again though. I've been off a few times in 30 years so I'll just keep going. I do need a bike now though - even something to ride while I fix the blade up
This is why I give money to the Kent, Sussex and Surrey air ambulance trust every month. Believe it or not they are a charitable organisation, not government funded, which amazes me. They are a fantastic organisation and deserve all the support they can get. Glad to hear you're both on the mend Steve - I am only down the road, if there is anything that I can do to help with your rebuild let me know.
Thanks mate. I agree - what a great charity and certainly a lifesaver to some. I'm getting the bike back tomorrow so will have a long hard look. To be honest I'm inclined to go through tye insurance atm as I'm sure the bike would be written off.
It would be wise to talk to them, but I'd be asking about my renewal premium as after all they will bump it if you don't make a claim (you have reported you have been in an accident) if you claim for the repairs or if you claim for a whole new bike, however it works out you know too well they will want money so I'd want the best bang for my buck and if that means I was paying a small percentage to get a new bike that's what I would do, difficult to work out as they will cough and splutter and prob won't even be able to answer the question and give you the numbers but they seem to have no problem working it out come renewal time.
