Was thinking of turning a black blade into a repsol only problem is the frame is black . Has anyone removed the paint on the frame and swingarm or can this even be done ?
I suppose it depends on whether you are trying to create a replica of a replica, or you just want the look. I think it looks pretty good with a black frame.
I'd be inclined to spray over the black rather than strip it down unless you are getting it re - anodised then sprayed again
I thought maybe it was a case of striping off the paint and just polishing after that thanks for all the help . . I think I will just leave as is for now
You could acid strip it, scotchbrite a grain into the alloy ( or polish it if that floats your boat ), and powder coat it clear. Job done, without the hassles of anodising.
Some pictures of the blade before I transform it over the winter into a repsol The bike has a noise coming from the clutch like a dry bearing and a small rattle comes and goes, I removed the casing to find a new looking clutch with release bearing in as new condition the only thing I can see wrong is the first clutch ring was broken in 3 pieces ? ?
The bike looks ok in the pictures but up close it's very tatty . .I sold my 2012 a few months back and this one is very poor compared to it
I bought the bike on flee bay and got it shipped over to Ireland , When the bloke opened the back of the truck there was a sofa laying on top of the bike !! It broke the front windscreen and fairings not happy !!
Fair enough bet you was annoyed! Have you considered the Samsung Honda paint scheme? You wouldn't need to paint the frame and the blue is amazing
Yea just a tad . . I haven't thought of the Samsung to late now as I have the repsol on the way from auctmarts .I was well pleased with the last kit I got from them so I am hoping for the same this time round . We're did you get your kit from ?
Nice . . So you didn't have to paint the wheels ? I don't know what to do about my wheels yet paint or powder coat
