I have a Sim Free Iphone 5 I've had for 2 1/2 years. been very happy with it and done everything I want. But now looking for something new.

So looking at either the Bendy Iphone 6 (unsure if to go for the 6 or 6+) anyone who has one thoughts?

Or the HTC M8 or Sony Xperia Z3

I like Android as well as Apple so not a fan boy and have to keep with the same thing

Or is there anything out there coming in the next Month or 3 that may be worth waiting for.

I use my phone for work, dairy, appointments, as well as calls, texts and wasting time playing games.

The Z8 looks really good but seeing as I have a few ipad's, Getting a Mac Book Pro soon I am wondering weather it's going to benefit me to stay with apple or go back to Android.
Thoughts? and anyone have any of the 3 above thoughts on them?

    cheers

    Matt

My contract is up soon (currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G with a custom ROM), and at the moment I'm gonna go with an LG G3. It's Android and it's got the best screen out there at the moment - QHD display. It's a bit of a beast at 5.5", but has a very narrow bezel so doesn't look too bad. My wife has the LG G2 and it's a fantastic phone. Very quick, great camera and hardly any bloatware installed by default - no weird Samsung/Sony Android skins - mostly vanilla Google - which I like.

The only other phones I'm looking at are the Z3 and the Moto X (2014). The iPhone 6 is nice but just too expensive considering it's no longer the best smartphone on the market. The LG G3 is really cheap considering it's spec. The Nexus 6 is meant to be due out very soon, but rumours are that it's a 5.9" behemoth! That's a bit too big for a phone...

I went sim free some years ago and tend to get a new phone every 6 to 12 months. Luckily the wife normally takes my "old" which helps reduce the costs. Currently she has an S4 and I have a Nexus 5. I like the nexus although I do miss the hardware button from my previous samsungs. I'm not taken with the S5 due to the silly cover on the usb port but might be tempted to go phablet next time. I am also interested in the OnePlusOne as I believe it is dual sim which would negate my need to a work mobile {Moto G at present).

I have had HTCs and always had faults on them and so I tend to shy away from them.

Rumours are that with Android L Google are going to crack the whip and make the manufacturers/carriers stick to a more rigid framework/design. Not sure if this is a good or bad move though as some of the apps from the manufacturers are better than the Google equivalent.

As for crApple, well I wouldn't touch them with a bendy barge pole with a flat battery, even if I could hold it properly. Never been a fan but now they are struggling to keep up and as a result the products are getting buggier.

Got a samsung galaxy note 3 excellent screen at 5.7 inches, it's fast with decent ram and processing, 4k video recording and 13mp camera and 4g, 32gb hard drive and can take a 64gb memory card, has been a fantastic phone so far

Samsung S5 for me, swapped to this from 2 iPhones and wouldn't go back.

Far more functionality, better screen, runs flash and you can shove a £25 64Gb card straight in to the standard 16Gb phone unlike Apple who rob ya blind for fixed memory!

Well looking more into this and seem the nexus 6 may be out soon and looks impressed from what I have read. and the LG G3 is getting lots of good reviews as well. above the Iphone 6 in some mags.

So I think i've narrowed it down to the above 2. once I see what google do with the Nexus 6 I will pop out and get one

^^^^ although apparently it won't be called "Nexus 6" as that's the name of the androids in Bladerunner... copyright issues apparently :D

Had a Nexus 4. Got a Nexus 5. Will probably end up getting the next Nexus :D

I'd heartily recommend them or the LG G3.

I've got a Nexus 4 but it's the last Google phone I'll buy due to its unreliability. It switches its self off regulary even when the battery is charged and then it refuses to turn on. You end up having to use a charger to bring it back into life. If you let the battery go too flat it goes into a deep sleep mode and can only be woke up by holding down on/off button and volume button while pluging in the charger. M8 for me soon.

Never had any issues like that with mine. Both it and my N5 have been no bother at all.

Would not be a copyright issue as they are different enough products, otherwise the likes of Audi and Samsung would be arguing over S3, S4 S5 etc ;)

I love these sort of stories. I seem to recall there was a similar one about Samsung which said that they would skip to the S6 as 5 was considered unlucky in Korea :)

As for the Nexus 5, well I have had mine a while now and it still does what I want. Would prefer being able to put in a sd card but having the 32Gb version and a little space maintenance means I still have loads of space left. I would also like a swappable battery but I get around that by having a separate solution. Battery has been fine but lately it is starting to suffer a bit but that may be caused by an app update or dodgy signal area, and it isn't bad enough to make me go hunting for it.

Will I get the Nexus 6? Depends on lots of things like who makes it; size of screen; cpu; storage etc etc.

My point exactly Matt - you haven't had a problem but lots on here have. There must be a scientific solution to both the dodgy Google Nexus 4 and the dodgy Honda ABS. Perhaps that fella off the TV who can explain how the universe was created could explain why one persons mobile works perfectly and another persons does not.
I normally read the reviews on products before buying but more frequently I now google looking for current owners who have issues.
