Cheers Arthur.. I know some people would rather see Akra etc.. but its too easy to go buy off the shelf.. I much prefer the "interesting route" in life! Guys are very much a can-do bunch.. very impressed and can't thank them enough..
Not for the bike but when one of the boxes on my 206gti went, the dealer wanted £500 to replace it as it was one piece or some such bollocks. My driver from my rallying days owns his own TVR specialist garage and has his own exhaust guy. We put the car on the ramp, this old geezer with a 200 year old boiler suit, a pipe, a tape measure and a bit of chalk gets underneath and takes a few measurements, gets a knackered old cardboard box of stainless elbows and lengths, lays it out on the floor, spot welds it, offers it up, takes it back down, bends it, twists it, welds a few more bits, offers it back, takes it off puts it in his van, says he'll be back in two hours, comes back in two hours with it fully welded, fits it, tells me it'll last longer than the car will, scratches his head then says... "It's gonna be £200 quid, I'm afraid mate." ?
Warmed up video! I took it this morning.. but had to nip away to get skirting boards for my bedroom that I'm decorating right now.. never a spare min in my life! Wife had her hand over the mic i think.. Last point from me.. Price since Kpone brings it up. I was £216 for the link pipe.. its made of Titanium I suppose! If you add in £55 for the van hire, £84 in Diesel, a few sandwiches and a cheeky 3:45am Mcdonalds, suppose it wasn't that cheap a day.. but what price can you put on an adventure haha..
Its def loud! that second vid is too quiet.. will have to take another tomorrow.. the old saying, if you want something doing.. Do it yourself!
last couple of photos I didn't manage to post earlier.. £800 EACH these rear tyres lol the lads at AAS also offered to polish up the whole exhaust while I was there.. but I said that she will be "blue" soon, so not to bother
so next instalment of this thread.. got my re-packing bits and pieces from B&C Express through the post today. Plan is to refurbish the can to as new condition to go with my spanking new titanium like pipe and headers Chaz from B&C suggested the packings may have gone after I phoned about getting new heat resistant Arrow Stickers (decals for the posh among you) Started stripping down the old can tonight.. never done it before but seems easy enough so far. Drill out the old Gas / water tight pop rivets first: See the burn mark on the old sticker indicting packing damage.. Seems the packing must have been either packed poorly from the start, or a heat spot has blown a wee hole through the packings as seen in the pics. Plan to re-pack, mop the can and make it shiney, then apply the new decals to be continued tomorrow evening
haha dad inherited that one near the tool box after too much chocolate etc dropped on it.. was in the kids play room and they don't last 5 mins in there!
