Just a heads up really, if you are looking at crossings from Portsmouth / Poole to mid France or Spain the only operator now is Brittany Ferries. They provide a great service but with a reduction in capacity following following LD Lines ending the Portsmouth to Le Havre service there may be pressure on cabins and potentially slightly sharper fares. If anyone knows another operator please post details of routes etc. - I think this may be due to emission levies / duty being introduced for 2015 which has also caused DFDS to drop the service from Harwich to Norway. Guess message is reserve your crossing early which I think costs £25 or £35
Yep - I "think" the tug boat I went on has been sold to Brittany and re-branded as their 'Economic' offering with lower prices against the luxury cruise style ferries on most routes, but limited time table options etc. and they don't really run as a rival service.
To be fair Al The boat you went on last year was akin to dropping nets and catching cod. But, it's a means to an end, it's transportation to a destination at the end of the day.
