2 threads with football in on the same page.

Glad I'm away otherwise I would post more but I'm busy drinking.

And most of the people I know and see often hate foozball with a passion like also.

    Ho I lik it ;)

I think it's a good thread. I don't post in there as I don't follow football but have to check threads as much as I can.

Well I am a biker, and I used to play at quite a decent level.
Indeed a trial with a top club allowed me to play on hallowed turf in North London.
Although in the end I wasn't good enough for them.

I used to follow my team home, away and away in Europe, every game, every time.
Sacrificed everything to follow my team.
When I worked in London I followed my English team when they were playing at home, or in the London area.

What put me off it in recent years.
    1. Standard of football in Scotland.
    2. Sectarianism and any form of bigotry.
    3. Modern players, earning too much money, yet still acting like children.
    4. It becoming a non contact sport almost.
    5. Too much football on tv.
    6. Price of tickets.
    7. Over analysis of what really is a simple game.

It's a shame, as it is still a game I love seeing my team doing well.
Far better when it is against all odds, as an underdog, but my club is my club, and is in my heart.
Right down to the very reasons it was formed, not for the hijacking of it as a political vehicle.

I also used to watch every game on tv when I could too. Even conference games.
Nowadays I rarely watch the EPL. In fact usually I only watch my own teams games.
Champions league has even gone stale, and seeding of cup tournaments to suit the richer clubs is also a turn off.

So while I am a biker, I like football. I just don't love it like I used to.
And like tattoos, I would never have a decal or my team name on my bike.
It's not worth it as there are too many folk who take a game way too seriously.

For a start the ball is the wrong shape:D
the partisatants are some what lacking in the balls department
Sectariasm and or bigatory (blind and rampant chavism) have spoilt a beautiful and skillfull game.
As has the the shame fully unsportsmanly way its played at all levels.........
If you take a dive on a rugby pitch your own players will stick the boot in while you are on the floor.
Road racing .......now thats a sport;)

They all say that but we all know who the top club is ; )
Supported the gooners since 1972, Started going down to Highbury in he early 90's, by 2000 home and away till around 2009, since I started my own business its proved difficult to get time off but still keep my Silver membership and my away credits.
Best season every invincibles 2004, that will take some beating.

Interesting post and its something that's always puzzled me. There seems so very few on here that do enjoy watching football.
Of my 5 or 6 regular biker mates all of them still play (and we're all in our 40's) and we all either watch the vast majority of games on TV or as myself and two others have season tickets for Liverpool watch them at Anfield.
Only myself and one other (my brother) watches bike racing on the TV or at racing meets ie Oulton Park and IOM TT on a regular basis.
Having said that I'm a sport watching junkie anyway - Football, Bike Racing, Rugby League & Union, Cricket, Golf all float my boat.

With you Brother, I am quite happy to watch 2 ants racing up a wall on TV as long as its competitive.

Only one way to play sport is realising that 2nd place is 1st loser, no point playing just for the fun of it.

I still much prefer playing than watching though.
I just don't get the chance to much these days as our regular 5 a sides finished a few months ago.

Me too Ratser. Unfortunately the older I get the more sport I watch and the less I play. Down to my weekly Friday 6-a-side matches with mates and ex work colleagues I've known and played with for years now. The old knees cant tolerate anymore than that I'm afraid :(
