Ok I know there has been lots said about the R77 on the forum but the thing is, I love the look and sound of it but have been a little bit put off with people saying it is a pain in the ring to fit and others say have had running/idling issues or the shield doesn't line up properly or it sits half a mm from the swingarm. It's an expensive bit of kit so knowing my luck would buy it and it won't fit right or run like sack of shit. Can someone tell me i'm being a little fairy and just buy it because theirs was fine?
My thinking behind this is that every yoshi can with link pipe is the same, the blades are exactly the same so those that encounter issues is it fitting error?
In fairness fitting is not too bad, yes the shield can take a bit of lining up and mine does surge a little at tick over but doesn't really bother me a PC 5 would fix it if you were that bothered, just a query are you buying from this country or the states?
Hi knighster, I just bought the yoshi R77 a couple of weeks ago, read the posts myself about fitting etc, but like you l liked it so much i took the plunge and got one. I had little or no problem fitting it myself and the bike runs as smooth as before but sounds and looks a lot better than standard. I would definitely recommend one. I did put a pic up on " what did you do on your bike today" thread.
Looking at previous threads and posts seems to make more economical sense to import from the states providing I can somehow avoid the monstrous import duties but looks like most have avoided it. Is the surging something I can definitely expect, blade?
Thanks for this. Yes it just looks so much better and of course the sound is something that needs to be improved over standard. I can't really afford it but fuck it I think I'm going to buy one. I see there's one for sale on eBay which is described as looking new but looks like it's going to fetch strong money. I'll check out the pic just to further my hand into my rather shallow pocket!
It only surges at 1-1.5k revs on mine and runs spot on the rest of the time, guess every bike is different slightly, Re ordering msg tom at biohazard who will mark it as a gift to save import taxes
Excellent thanks dude. Would I be right in thinking with baffle installed it is less likely to surge? I am not sure if it is coincidence but seems those have left it in has no surge but then again like you say, every bike is very slightly different.
Just out of interest I left the baffle in mine, I have heard good things about tom at biohazzard as blade 1980 says and you would save yourself some cash. The cheepest I have seen new buying in the uk is £663 from moore speed racing.
Haha I know what you mean blade 1980, I will probably get around to taking my baffle out too, I just wasn't sure how loud it was going to be. £450 is a good price mate , well done.

Crikey Moses I've just been sick. £663 you say? That's hideous and just couldn't do it. That one on ebay will probably make £450 I reckon. Lovely can but bloody expensive.
Got one on mine baffle out have a listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jiyi3_QVNC4&index=10&list=PLU5vYxj7WL_bwH20_peOvnWwIB4S8Uj8S 6.52 minutes in...... Black Beauty!
I don't know how they can be hard to fit. I reckon 30 minutes or so. The only reason it will be near the swinging arm is if the link pipe hasn't been turned fully. This adjusts the gap from a couple of mm to well over a cm.
