Police are abviosly clamping down on small plates again !!!!

Went for a haircut a few days ago and parked the blade outside the hairdresser with the back of the bike facing the road.

As I was geeting my hair cut a Police Volvo slowly passed by and stopped by my bike, 2 coppers then came out of the car and were looking around the bike.

When I left the hairderessers 20min later the 2 coppers were waiting outside and approached me.

We had a chat about the plate and was told that on this occassion the would not issue a £60 fine but instead gave me a warning.

Any of you guys had similar experiences?

Last time got chased by an unmarked car and was issues with a £60 fine.

    Pointless anyway?
Just fit a legal plate, they all look as bad as each other IMO.
Or don't fit a plate at all ;)

I guess it depends on how much of a pi** take the small plate is, I'm 7by5 I think and I don't get stopped its the font that really gets them, as long as you put the legal font on the plate then theoretically they are normally ok !

I think its so rare to get the fine, just pay it - continue to ride with the small one - i cant stand having a bloody great dinner plate stuck up there - nasty.

AND apparently a standard plate will cost 1 second a lap of Brands Hatch due to the drag it creates... if your into that kind of thing.

Mmm 7 x 2 is pushing it in my world, as far as I know bikes need a plate on 2 lines, so that's one problem, then the size is problem two.

As I said mines neat but standard font and is perfectly readable from 20m

    Oh well!

I went for 1 inch smaller than stock both ways. The blades butt it pretty small so the plate looks legal. My friends that have had trouble have the 7 x 2 plates . they stand out like a saw thumb , If you keep it square it looks fine
