Kpone...haha very witty. I do like the S1000RR great bike in every aspect, apart from the headlights...they are hideous. But I do feel and maybe some of you will agree, that the S100RR is a common looking bike?....I see them everywhere. My choice would be the S100RR HP4 or the HP4 Carbon....If you're going to get one, get one that stands out! Also to throw a spanner in the works, metaphorically speaking. What about the Ducati 1198....Oooooooooooo
To be honest, the BMW is still sufficiently different to make me do a double take when one goes by. Which is a good thing. It still looks loopy. I'd hate to think they're now going to start 'normalising' it, for the same reasons that Lamborghinis must be candy metallic. It needs to stay mad looking. It's why I'm against de-badging. If you've got an M3, let everyone know, if it's a 316es, you're not fooling anybody.
Like you say each to their own, but comparing 1960's reliability with today's bikes is a little daft IMO. If you don't want one for other reasons then cool, but that's got to be the worst reason for not liking a bike I've ever heard. Was a time when Honda were not particularly good....
Never had any trouble with either of my Ducatis, but they were of course post 1960's Fantastic looking bikes IMO and generally very well put together. Of course, not everyone can ride a Ducati fast and safe, they require a bit more rider input IMO but they are so rewarding and sound amazing. Love d the punch out of corners on the twins. As for the Panigale, looks the dogs danglies to me.
Still love my Ducati, just something about it, pure race bike, not compromised by road and euro BS that Jap(or BMW) brands seem to conform to, they have lost the game atm in WSB etc but I am sure will be back, you have to ride one to "get it" but I assure you if you do hop on a 1098 etc the blade feels like a toy afterwards!
