Owls.. reminds me when I was working offshore in Thailand in 2005 and an Owl fly right into the window of the container I was working in.. knocked itself a little dizzy for about 10 mins before trying to bite the poor guy that was holding him haha.. Couple of other photo's from that same trip - caught a fish that had a rough skin.. and big eyes that rotated and looked around at everyone on deck! the thing was from another world! thought I'd add these 2 photo's as well.. a red snapper I caught! gloves on as we don't have fishing rods.. just fishing line with a little squid hooked on the end and a bolt for a weight! cuts your hands pulling in one of these strong fish and then up 20ft up to the lower deck of the rig - hardest work I did all trip offshore!.. gloves an essential! And you can bet I did eat this one though

was a 2 week trip that one.. and one crew (unmanned platform) so food was dropped off by that boat in the background. Food was usually cold rice and cold chips for the white man (me) so it was best to fish for food! Slept on the deck with a life vest for a pillow and tried to catch some sleep every now and then while my trainee ran the job.. was shattered after 2 weeks like.. all great fun though as the weather was fantastic!
Above taken around 21:00 Manchester City Centre - sent them into the paper as chance they may be featured - just very different lighting at night. I need a more solid / robust tripod, they were taken at 400 ISO, F11 I think (adjusted it a but) using a cable release and the AV setting so camera set exposure length. Also manually set the white balance to Tungsten light as first shots colour was way out - Any feedback welcome!
