Thinking about picking one up for mucking about with in the winter snow. Anybody have any experience of them and any problems?

They look like good fun, I wont be using it for cruising around town with no lid on or anything stupid, just something to get my kicks while the bikes are laid up

No personal experiences other than having a play on mates. but a few I know have got them but mainly for working on their farms. Cracking drifting in the snow :)

as long as you gear up go for it!!! as they can be bloody unstable....and last thing you want to do is rear end a motor on one with no lid... been a few noggin removals from that!!

great fun though and as for winter....mmmm got me thinking!

always fancied one and a mate had a raptor 700 which was great but too much money. if i were buying i,d buy and older decent one from 1 of the jap manufacturers and not be tempted by an almost new cheap chinese thing. hth

Ive rode a few on the road, fixed axel ATV's are dangerouse on the road imo, and even a cruddy farm quad would pass you if it had a nice diff over the fixed axel how ever much power you may have.. I had a 180cc chinky quad for a while it was a laugh tbh and just as much fun as my mates TRX450 at times on the road..

At least on a bike you dont have to push it to the start line.. :(

Got loaned this for a local-ish 3 hour enduro, 1st time out came 19th out of 169 riders.. :)

And this was at the peak of a mountain when I was Skiing..

The mate of mine who had two (one enduro and one mx) LTZ's had one of the first Preditor 500's that was a beast I like the new one, he ended up with a HRC kitted TRX450 man o man that can fly!

My brother had some 450cc road thing with road slicks and a fancy pipe, bloody scary things on the road. I didn't like it at all but they do turn heads.

You guys think a 350 raptor will still have enough guts to be fun? Been offered one at a reasonable price as I don't want to go mental and buy a beast that is too much without learning properly.

There's some awesome quads in this thread

Depends where your going to use it . It will be ace on country roads but if you want dual garage ways etc then get the biggest 4 stroke possible

My mate avoids them even on his 700 raptor as its a strain on the engine holding 70 mph . I was behind him when it blew lol
