I seen the farmer and we had a heated chat I`ll say , wanted £400 each for them , then I asked to see the vets ticket for docking there tails cut a long story short I walked away with them but a £100 lighter, just could not leave them there.
I would have called the rspca and got them involved then said to them you would house them. Idiots like that don't deserve to be allowed animals, but good on you for getting them out of there
cruel bastard to dock their tails, and good on you Steve for taking them in - I think the RSPCA should still pay him a visit though!
I reckon a manual white balance would have spoilt the mood on them Al. Reckon it was the right choice to leave it on tungsten. It shifted everything towards the blue and brought out that eerie sodium hue. Cracking atmosphere.
Thanks for that - was much more luck and timing - the day had been dry and sunny so everything was still perfect condition - had to wait a while for the the shots to clear of people - would be interesting to return for sunrise on a crisp / frosty morning in winter and take similar shots to compare but think the those shots really work. Manchester city centre has some fantastic opportunities for urban landscapes - you could almost settle on a theme like 'Trams' / 'gargoyles' or 'old verses new' and have a good day / evening / night out - Salford Quays also good with the BBC buildings etc but not the safest area after dark so you need a few to visit together really. The Christmas markets could be another opportunity - again a really early frosty / cold morning could work well.
Urban landscapes are fun to do. I remember a very expensive gondola ride through the back canals of Venice, when I didn't shoot anything above door handle level along the banks. I heard a stage whisper from the gondolier to the missus "What iz 'e photographing?", and the exasperated response of "Textures". Not being a romantic soul, other than the incredible shapes and patterns of the ancient buildings, the place is a festering swamp next to an oil refinery, to me...
Horse was scratching on a tree lol So Old but, my boy and his Dad BVG's bike done, this mornings frost One more (prob already posted it)
