    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, live in kent and recently acquired a 2011 TriColour 600RR. Was brought to this forum by @chappo who in the non virtual world is the lady in my lifes Dad and has recently got himself a Blade.

We are planning to travel to Le Mans for the 24hr next year for my brother in laws stag do (thus upsetting the lady's in our lives).. Now we've both been before, but I've never camped & also neither have done the trip on a bike.

Anyone got any experience/advice with this journey (dover - calais), mainly camping for bikers at Lemans and security to be honest as that's a bit of a concern..

There's a fairly large group of us going (the others are taking cars/motorhome etc.

Any advice would be mega - also has anyone had any experience with 600RR's with regards to luggage, I'm thinking something small and ergo on the tank for essentials and maybe a small tail pack as the guys on four wheels can take the majority.

    Cheers.

    Mate

Stayed here before, very popular with Brits at race time, lots of bikers stay there. Security not an issue. British owned and run. restaurant and bar on site, TVs etc, plus hot showers.

They run constant shuttle service (included) to the cct and other popular vantage points.

Take you own or rent a pre pegged prepped tent.

About 3 miles or so off cct.

    Bikes or Cars 24 hour?

I have done car 24 hour 5 times since 2006. Not done the bikes

I have used Travel destinations before so worth a shout 24 Hours Moto

if it's car endurance then you need to book asap to get a good place and I've used Team Langoustine many times http://www.teamlangoustine.com/

I stay in the Tertre Rouge team camp site which has gated security but it sales out quick
Both TD and TL are both very good and I would use them again

Thanks for the reply's so far chaps,

It's the car 24, the camping will be booked this week or early next.

One thought I had was the get the others who brought cars to impound our bikes, I.E. park all around them, then chain them up as well.. might be an idea.

    How was it Remal?

If you camp in the Team Langoustine main site at TR you will not need to. All the people are great. No issues with anyone removing anything. I had a mate who took his Bike in 2008 and he had no issues at all.

You should love it. There is a good tram that goes from the circuit to le mans center where there are great bars and restaurants. I go leave and get a slow night ferry on the Tues night. fresh the net morning after brekky. it's only 250 miles from the longest ferry from Southhampton if you went that way. If you go via Cean it's only 120 miles to le mans. And if you stay away from chunnel direction hardly no police. Who will be hot to catch UK drivers/riders. IE over 50km over the limit and you can find your car/bike impounded, big fine 750 euro on the spot and your licence removed.
