I've got the bike stripped down to do a valve clearance check and while the cam cover is off I was thinking about removing the pair valve, pipes and solenoid. If I unplug the solenoid will this throw any fault codes on the dash? Thanks - Steve
Cant answer your question but easier just to block it, takes the hassle out if you wish to return it back to standard when selling.
Here you go might be of some help The CBR1000RR Fireblade Forum - pair valve removal and smog plate mod guide CBR1000RR
Thanks for the feedback - still not sure if you get error codes - the video was good but it gave me a touch of motion sickness - weird. As the cover is off I'm going to fit some blanking plates and dump the junk.
Fitted blanking plates on mine and threw solenoid away etc just plugged pipe that goes into crankcase, no faults or any other probs. All on my RR6. As Nutty Tart says block hole in air box too, all simples.
I did that on my 08 a couple of years back and no error codes Dump the lot it weighs a ton It's recommended to block the little hole in the air box as well I found a little bit of rubber to bung mine up Sorted
Hate to say the junk is back. I ordered the block off plates from someone in Greece who seems the only person selling them on Ebay. Waited for over two weeks for them to turn up and have just been refunded because they never arrived. I've settled for just blocking off the air inlet for the pairs system in the air box - at least I can reinstate it easily.
Yup mine ordered from Greece 2 weeks ago turned up 3 days later cracking service i thought anyway . Cheers Lee
I looked at his feedback and it looked fine - what the feedback doesn't tell you is if items never arrived and PaPay refund. In these circumstances you don't get the chance to add feedback once they refund. The guy kept telling me to wait and they would turn up but they never did. In the end I wanted to rebuild the bike before I forgot how it went back together again (early stage dementia). I reckon you had my plates Lee ha ha. Cheers Steve
Ha ha sorry Steve if I did I know what you mean now he said he had sent them but they never got to you just make sure you put some thread lock on the bolts and 12nm on the plates buddy when reinstalling
Have you fitted already wedgie? If not and you could trace round them and add dimensions I can make them
