Anybody recommend a good one to mount in the back garden , with p.i.r Brighter the better , but not hundreds of pounds ? Steve
I have 2. a LED solar one I bought via costco which has been great until recently and why I've turned it off for now. With poor sunlight it only lasts about 2 hours this one in black Costco UK - Sunforce Solar Motion Sensor 80 LED Security Light But I have had at the bottom of my garage another that's powered and I've had about 3 years and works great. But I don't know what make or model it is. Just a LED with PIR I've fitted for mum this one XQ Lite LED PIR Floodlight 10W Black | LED Floodlights | Screwfix.com and it may be only 10W but it's more than enough to light up her pathway, driver and other houses when on and comes on up to 8M away

I looked at replacing a 150W halogen with one of these, decided I would have to use a truck of electric to just break even, so bought a new 150W bulb instead.
Led's only need a small watt rating to be bright, 30w led is similar to something like a 200-250w halogen bulb LED Watt Conversion Table - Light Replacement Guide
the 10W my mum has is more than enough for her and it covers a large car park area and pathway so 30W would be more than enough
i have a 10w one from screwfix, it's bloody bright. Do not underestimate the light output from LED's. I was looking at a 30W but they didnt have any in stock, so i got the 10 instead and am more than happy with it XQ Lite LED PIR Floodlight 10W Black | LED Floodlights | Screwfix.com Thats the one i bought.
Same as I posted above. you hear 10w and think thats not enough but unless you have a area the size of a park to light they do a great job

I guess the 30watt one is mounted at high level........ if its around 2.6 to 2.8m you might want a less wattage and also the higher you go the less PIR coverage you ll have..... unless PIR is designed for higher mounting height.....

30w will be loads, I have one of the 10w ones with a battery and it will burn ur bloody eyeballs out if you accidentally look at it.
