After an eventful morning, especially at the opticians (more on that later) I managed some decent manual graft for the first time since the recent confinement clearing up behind the retreating builders. Came in to swap into some dry clothes and a home alone afternoon of beer and rugby to find a text message from me old mucker, SteveB, announcing he'd be at Bridge awaiting a brew at half two. It was already half two but it's only two miles away so I wazzed round there sharpish to see him looking at his phone with an 'ignorant prick didn't get back to me' look on his face. A few hours putting the world to rights and sampling the new burger van coffee (£1 a cup and worth every penny..), then he shot off into the dark to even darker Cornwall. He even uttered the dread phrase "visit to kpone's neck of the woods III"... Great catch up mate, hope you had a safe ride home.

I must be being punished for something Mike. It did turn into a bit of a lost summer. A real bastard as it was such a good one. Just getting used to the idea of getting back to normal and it looks like I might be developing a cataract. The upside is, the replacement is like stepping up to an L series lens, so swings and roundabouts.
