Trouble is, small batch runs are expensive. As I am the company MD, if i costed the bracket i made based on my time, it would be more expensive that the R&G. I think this would only really be done on a "mates" basis within the forum. I couldn't see anyone making any money out of it. Not sure what Colin charged for the chain guards, but I bet he wouldnt mind admitting he only did it to help out fellow forum members - and that's no bad thing!
Yur not wrong Steve ... Colin's chainguard was a copy of the Rizoma one I think and that is over a ton ps ... nice job on the bracket
I filled mine with carbon vinyl .. 3 0r 4 sheets thgen bolted my bracket over the top and poked an led through the top hole
That looks excellent Steve. A word of caution though. Is it ally or stainless. I believe ally is more prone to cracking under constant vibration, will be interested to see how long it survives "spirited riding" or I could be totally wrong. I have a large stock of 2mm thick stainless if you fancy having a go with that???
Exactly right mate. I don't even want to think what it wouldve cost Its also down to getting time in a machine where it could be making a lot of money at say £60- £80 an hour. It all adds up
Yeah big sheet of vinyl of ebay . the carbon wrap stuff they use on cars .. It was just to seal the holes to prevent water coming in I did fabricate a peace of ali to go in the coffin shaped recess left by the Bee sting ( took me bloody ages lol ) but it then stepped out so to keep it all flush i made a paper stencil and slapped a few sheets of vinyl in there . The L.E.D i sealed in with blue instant gasket . Worked a traet
I made and fitted an infill tonight. Approx 2mm thick piece of black flexible plastic. Cut it to shape and siliconed it into place. Being held in by masking tape currently. My LED number plate bolt should be here soon and i will post a photo of the finished item.
Yeah, thats the problem. If it werent for that it would be dead easy. I suspect a suitable sized round rubber grommet would work, but it would be a strange shape when fitted.
Well I didnt actually, because I had already bought the R&G tail tidy for £115! I will probably sell that now though
