Rsv4 is another matter. Had one of those as well, if I had the money one of those would be in my garage
(@peter re Ohlins) Not that I know, mind you they do have cast lowers! ** I was told by a well know suspention dealer the internals are the same, the TTX is defo full fat. haha, I was going to add if any Pani R owner want a race they MUST be on SCs, I'm on PR3s lol ** so no then lol
Yes the rear looks all good, but the fronts look a little cut down, so I am not sure if they are full on Ohlins units,
Never stripped a pair myself so I am only going on what I was told, but yeah for now I think I may well retract that statement until I know first hand, guess for starters I have half answered my own reply to your question...if that makes sense...lol "twisted reply" In other words your proberly right and H have slipped those in on the deal with the special order Brembos.
Maybe Honda should have done a KTM, loose the base model, reduce the price of the SP and sell it as the "new" blade, well until a new new blade comes along
I have to say Peter that I benefit greatly from the modded suspension and brakes on my bike. They enable me to ride faster and safer and thus have more fun. I think it depends on what type of rider you are, I like to ride fast but I don't want to die or kill anyone else. The Blade is still a powerful bike but there is not much point of power without control.
Yes but explore what you have got before you go beyond the realms of what you need!! Many bikes can be set up better to extract the extremes of the standard components before quality components come into play. A belief that many riders think they can ride better with thousands spent on suspension and brakes is not the case unless you are some BSB/Moto GP rider.
TBH, I've always suspected, good tho it's said to be, that the SP is/was a glorified, tarted-up, 'empty the parts bins' stop-gap bike. I've never ridden one mind and everyone who has says you can feel the difference so maybe I'm wrong. I was hoping that we might see at the NEC a completely new (200+bhp?) 'blade announced for 2015. The cash for a new bike is burning a hole in me pocket but the idea of buying anything but a Honda just seems plain weird. Trouble is, I wouldn't be best pleased to buy an SP in The New Year only to have it 'trumped' by an 'all-singing, all-dancing' Super-'blade come the Spring.
SP does look great, I think it's bad that honda have released another batch of SP's when they were supposed to be limited numbers etc. You could justify the 15k if you were buying a very limited run, you can even buy the hrc sp next year can't you they are making more?
No point buying an sp next yr , make do till 2016 for the Fireblade that'll blow the competition away in performance and price
Trouble is Steve been saying that for the last 3 years... Is there any concrete commitment from honda for a new blade next year?
