More out of curiosity but do the phone apps actually have any value and can a meter be bought for the bike? . I have seen on some bikes that they come as std. I guess chicken strips are the real indication though.
Apparently the 2015 BMW S1000RR comes with one built in to the dash. Bit Chav for my liking and will only end up with owners binning their bikes chasing degrees with their mates.
if you are desperate for a lean meter and have an iPhone, the pirelli dragon app records speed/lean/distance etc
Reckon I'm on 64 degrees , melted to the edge lol Joking aside this app shows all you need, including lean angle. Can't display the screen on here to show you what it looks like. For obvious reasons !
I really like this App mainly cos it said I got a 70.1 lean angle @58 mph on the way from work, does that mean I'm more committed than MM93 ? Garys
problem with those apps is the phone would need to be in the right place,as in flat, upright etc for whatever it's position was calibrated for, assuming you can calibrate the internal gyro. if you really want a true (or as true as you can get without shelling out 100's if not 1000's for a full on logging system),the Aim solo does a good job with it's internal 3 way axis accelerometer and gyro.it calculates using its internal gyro and then,if you want to get really technical,in the software you can create your own math channel using the gyro+GPS speed to give a more accurate reading.
Thanks. I never new such an app was available. Can't wait for better weather to see how far over I go. Last year I did 90 degrees, cost me 2 grand !
No idea why anyone apart from pro racers would even need to know the lean angle. Pub talk and pointless personally Much like Chicken strips. Really who gives a poo
I love doing knee downs. It is the one thing that keeps me motorcycling. Then afterwards we all talk about whilst drinking. Come. On next Spring.
