    Some very good points here!!

In terms of the 'new' Repsol scheme I am not a big fan. I loved my 2007 and 2009 Repsol blades, plus I agree Jamie's 2013 was incredible.

Given the choice of the 2014 Tri colour HRC SP or the 2015 Repsol SP, it would be hands down 2014.

that is the exact point I'm trying to make, regrdless of some of exfired blinkered views, and what he thinks I think about the blade.i've already stated I think they are great bikes, but a great bike will only remain so,in it's current form, for so long before it's out dated and the field has moved the goal posts to far to reach.

Scooby my opinion is not blinkered, if you read what I write you would see I am purely stating that not everyone wants rider aids and that racing is only part of the use of a Blade, not the be all and end all.

From a business perspective, they are providing a litre bike that differs from the others by not having rider aids and is still a good bike. Differentiating your product in the market can be a good strategy. Yes they will have to change at some point unless the industry undergoes some changes or changes are forced upon them.

Honda IMO know what they are doing and have more know how of the bike and the market than any of us on here. They are also a major business and I doubt very much they will lose their status as one of the best manufacturers of motorbikes especially in the prestigious litre class.

The Blade has a history and a future IMO. Honda seem more than capable of developing bikes and technology , I think Moto GP proves that.

When they think the time is right they will no doubt make a change, meanwhile they have a tried and tested product with good sales and aftermarket products that I expect are making them a nice little profit.

I rode all of them before buying my blade I liked the fact I didn't have to fiddle with the dash just get on a ride a bike that is much better than me , the Ducati 1199 I rode needed is electronics to sort it out just look what happens in BSB when you take them off, the BMW just didn't like the look of it and build quality not good , like the zx10 but to much of a stretch
To the bars , more than happy with what I have for now , balance of the bike superb and I can only go so fast on the road bit like my car has paddle shifters and AMG mode which I've used twice in a year! Just enjoy what you have and unless your racing then 1 sec diff on this and that - is how comfortable you feel on the bike that matters.

The Fireblade has plenty of up to date technology, maybe just not the sort with big buttons to press/show people down the pub :)

I feel we took a step back when we re-placed carbide lamps with these 'new-fangled' electric thingies. :(

Hate to be the one to break it to you mate but sadly, yes ! They'll be fixing brake blocks to the front wheel next. I ask you what sort of ninnie needs front wheel brakes? And now there's talk of automatic engine lubrication too. Pass the Smelling Salts. Where oh where will it end? I need to lie down.:(

Agree totally, i know i am a reasonable and safe rider..... but that's it, i am not fast. I meet and see a lot of riders who i feel are just like me, but in their heads.... they are very good riders and class themselves as '' fast ''..... Maybe the inclusion of bling goes someway to bolster this belief.

I don't proclaim to be fast, and riders with far less powerful biked sometimes leave me in there wake,
Yes I have a bike with all the gadgets on, and the reason I bought it was, I just gelled with it and it's a thing of beauty to look at, but the gadgets havn't made me into Rossi .

Ha, so right! I was doing my track day at brands thinking I was giving it some on the blade when tommy hill went past me round the corner riding one-handed, looking back behind him whilst giving some hand gesture instructions/tuition to someone else. Mind you, I was also passed by a bmw GS fully loaded with panniers and a top box!
