As I love and cherish my 2011 blade too much and can't afford to take it round the track I have purchased a k3 gixxer 1000 Pretty mint for her age but definitely lacking in the brakes department
wow rp1 I'd be afraid to crash that ! hopefully picking up this next Saturday - http://1000rr.co.uk/other-bikes/22383.htm I do have one or two concerns that maybe you guys can put to rest a) the bike has done three track days in two years so it's been stood around for quite some time, the last time it was used was April this year, I'd like to hear the engine before I buy but do I run the risk of causing damage through old possibly contaminated oil ? b) the bike has no v5, Motoforum do a free sco9 check for you on request, this has come back all clear so that's good enough for me, how do I go about getting a v5 for this bike c) are the brakes really as bad as everyone says ? would it be best to tap up YorkshireGooner for calipers and mastercylinders from a blade, if so 2009 onwards isn't it ? Rodders are you going slipperless ? if no do you intend on fitting a Sigma at big bucks or, try to pick up a second hand k5/k6 clutch and do the tweaks required, be interested in your thoughts on this julian
And as for braking if your used to a newish blade then yeah they really are that bad I'm gna start with a m/c first off, But Yorkshire gooner is the man his got a couple sets in at the min
