Good news that mate and a massive step to full recovery, I'm really happy for you that it's finally off. Roll on spring eh. Andy B
Yes Rob, been off work the last 26 weeks on SSP so skint for Xmas now :-( However might be back working in two weeks on light duties only though for 4 months, lets see what the boss has me doing then as I'm a mechanic.
Cheers for that Scott but sometimes it's the price we pay for having fun riding a motorcycle and I wouldn't change it for the world
That's great news...are you able to walk..or are you no weight bearing? I can't wait till mine comes off..its started getting cold!!
Cheers Sam and what is more you get to keep your fixator (Now going to be side stand for bike) There was still movement in the pin areas when force was applied to my leg, so it crutches again for 2 week with no weight bearing until end of last week. After that its 4 months of light duties for the bone to strengthen fully, so got to be very careful with it. Your going to love having the pins unscrewed out, 2 weren't too bad but other 4 were like having a filling done at the dentists. Didn't get chance to take photo of xray but you can still see the cracks plus fragments of bone 26 weeks on with more solid stuff around the outside. Another xray in 2 weeks so will get a photo to post on here.
Broke my calcanium 5 years ago 8 months on crutches first three month no weight bearing,I can tell u rich it ain't that bad getting pins out I have had 2 ops on it and it was ok but initially the worst pain I have experienced .re trying to walk again was a eye opener tho and the muscle never came back just wasted away and I trained with it to try and build it up swimming weights ect, if you read up they reckon the calcanium is one of the worst bones to break it was totally shattered I will post another pic if I dig it out it was like a mechano set keep up yor chin rich at least we are alive to tell the tale and stay lucky
