Yeah it did look a bit unfair to me. I'm not taking it as seriously as this thread is starting to make it look though!
No hmmmmmm about it I'm Not biased, your not getting it it's not what he's said on numerous occasions do you think I'd really be bothered about another person hating the police???? I'm thicker skinned than that, it's the fact he was asked to Kerb it but ignored the powers at be and continued with his outrageous outbursts. I would love some how for you to see who made the complaints about him not that it matters who it was but their were no complaints from Me yet I was the one especially the first barrage of abuse was aimed at. It's not the topic of his abuse or the subject matter, I don't care that he hates the police, it's the way he went about his business. I'll say it again, Wild bill ain't the biggest fan of the police however what he says is both just and constructive, and despite his bad experience he still shows sone open mindedness!!! Cabbie was just, childish, nasty and relentless, I though he was joking at first then realised nit and wondered if he is a few valves short of a set.
I have read alot of the comments on here regarding Cabbie and his comments and do believe that at times he may have been out of order with the language that he used but to be honest i think the biggest problem has been with the amount of feedback that we have received from the Administration and Moderators ...i for one was against moderators because as usual its taken out of the forums hands and the decision is made by others. Now you have all said how much you appreciate our feedback and opinion we are the same as you... we as the forum members are the forum without us it does not exist .... so yes if does mean you as administrator or moderators opening a thread to let us know what is happening with a member... so be it then we as forum members have a chance to change the person if not then well let justice prevail ... who knows maybe we might have had a chance to hear Cabbies stories and well make him a better person but we will never know that or have the chance as forum members to put our point across. Now i hope Milky classes me as friend i class him as one and i don't mind his job because he never ever throws it in my face but i have met others that do, but please be honest there are times when we are all bigots to either the police, black, Pakistanis , Chinese, women drivers or Yamaha Riders the list is endless.... yes and Cabbie was a bigot but we will never know if we all could have changed that
We will because instead of being constructive like others he just flew off the handle he was asked months ago what his issues were with the po po but couldn't really elaborate!!! Were here to talk bikes not council people and come here because we enjoy it not to be abused!!! And if we are all bigots we wouldn't be rude or stupid enough to come onto an open forum And do it openly!!! He wasn't far off the racist woman on the bus thread for you tube videos!!!
Djfleming's post above ties in with a few of the thoughts I have on the matter. I just lack the energy to type that much
Hi djfleming, I'm not sure what kind of feedback you need? Genuinely, I was the one who decided to ban cabbie and close the thread. I'm pretty sure I stated on the thread close that what was posted was unacceptable - to me. And to be frank, I felt uncomfortable with the content that was posted and in my opinion it crossed the line. Despite feedback being delivered to cabbie it didn't stop. So I thought the best thing to do was to remove the ability to post on the forum and delete the content. This forum is hosted in my name, the content published to the world and I do feel a level of responsibility to make it an acceptable place to be. That's it really. Nothing more to it. I'm actually quite surprised that we have a massive debate on it to be honest. In regards to moderation, Dan & Matt moderate this forum and in my opinion do a great job. Moderation here is pretty laid back compared to most web forums I visit and a lot of content would not make other sites. All I want for the site is it to be a great place to be to talk about bikes with like minded people. It is run as a hobby and I really like what we've achieved since it launched in January this year. I really do think we have a great bunch of members who post great entertaining content. As always, anything I can do to make it a better place please let me know. Either in the suggestions section or via PM. Regards, Rob.
Rob I cant agree with you enough, I was on a ford Forum I posted exactly as I have on here the warnings I got was unreal for literally having a laugh it was cack so I left. I think you have the balance perfect and cant applaud you and the moderation team enough fella!!!
Yes , this is a great Forum, with great members and the only one that wasn't, and I know him better than any of you, has gone. Can we move on now or just keep talkin in circles???
Well said Meggs ... lets leave it now can we . I believe that the majority of the people on here were not happy about the comments being made by cabbie and he was given the chance to reign it in but could not control his outbursts . I for one don't want to read stuff like that again where one member of this forum is being verbally abused by another .
Jeesus, what a read. I never saw the latest exchange of words involving Cabbies thread but previously a few weeks back I did think he overstepped the mark with direct abuse at Ben. We all join forums as we have a common bond, whether it be bikes or otherwise. We are all entitled to our opinions as long as they stay within the common boundaries of decency, respect and banter. Moderation is a necessary evil I am afraid although usually things can be sorted by the members prior to that unless an individual(s) are just not willing to take the hint. As for having police on the board, well they are only human also, but I am biased as I am also a police officer and this may spark some comment too but I really don't give a sh!t cause life is way too short and I ride a fireblade, and that is what this place is all about surely. Time to move on
