There has I'm sure been talk on this before but thought it a bit strange that the blade comes with a 50 profile S20. I'm planning on rosso corsas come the good weather (if we get any). Does a 55 improve handling as I'm expecting it to? Have a great Christmas all!

Thanks Simon. That's what I wanted to hear. Just was really surprised to see a 50 on a modern litre. I love the rosso corsa and know the S20 has a good rep but got to be the corsa in 55.

The profile of the tyre is basically the height of the tyre. So a 55 profile rear tyre is 55% of the width of the tyre which Equates to 10.5 CM.

Makes me sound intelligent but I'm actually thick as shit but in a nutshell your bike will turn in better. I'm sure someone will be along soon to explain the science.

Have got pirelli diabolo Rosso corsa's on mine in 55 profile, great tyre for grip and turns nicely with the 55 profile compared to 50

If you are commuting a lot have a look at sport tourer tyres like the Bridgestone T30 or Michelin Pilot Road. They can handle the speed and power, but don't square off as easily.

At the moment I'm running Bridgestone Batalax and they've done about 4000 miles so far.. few teeny tiny stone cuts but soooo much tread left. Most of my mileage is commuting... therefore riding on cats eyes/the crappy gritty bit that cars don't go on... surprised these lasted this long. Are the Michelin PR4s the very best for commuting on a sports bike without making it rubbish when taking it on the twisties?

    Yes Ms Ro,

Michelin PR4's are an amazing all weather tyre and can still put in some very respectable lap times on a Track Day, should you so choose. :)
