Hi, Had a bargain on a scorpion slip .

Scorpion say the exhaust is dyno tuned and does not need a remap but im getting a power commander anyway.

I can only find a map for a PC3 not PCV

Does anybody have a custom or premade map That they would be willing to share?

Or does anybody know if Dynojet suggest an alternative that will work good?

Also what is the zero map?

    Any help much appreciated

    Cheers

    Sorry I don't have one.
I would just try the other PCV slip on maps from the DJ website (remember to check whether it's for baffle in or out).
Or you could try the map for the stock exhaust (as Scorpion say it doesn't need a remap)
Zero map just means no changes to fuelling (as if the PCV wasn't connected).

    http://www.powercommander.com/downloads/16-002/maps/m16-002-all.exe
    (Eur maps start with M16-002-5??)

I recommend getting a custom map if you are getting a PC. All engines and set ups are different so if you are going to the efforts of installing, you may aswell get the best out of it.

Also, if its a slip on, i doubt the PC will make much of a difference anyways... I dont run one and its sweet as. Also, remember to tell your insurance company as if they find it after a prang, they will void your insurance. Bar-stewards!

Yeah i will get a custom map done, Gotta wait a month till next payday thou.

I just want to be certain the bike is right. The standerd can has the CAT in so it must affect the fuelling when you de-CAT it ???.

I fitted an MGP Growler 2 weeks ago and there was a huge difference in power of the mark but the bike was running like crap.
The growler was pretty much a straight pipe where as although the scorpion is replacing the CAT it does have a small collector box,

Thanks for the advise guys , I think i will try the standard exhaust map for now + give Dynojet a call and see if they have a suggestion + get a custom map done in a month or 2.......Sorted

Installed my power commander 5 last night and started clicking throu the dynojet maps looking for the stock map and 505 on the website says akro slip but from the CD says Euro bike + scorpion slip + Stock/after market filter

So gonna give that a whirl . Gonna check with dynojet monday if it is a scorpion tuned map

I used the PCV european OE exhaust map at first then when i fitted the leo vince used their baffle out map.

Its not a million miles away but will get a custom map eventually.

Like suggested just try a few maps. the scorpion can looks about the same size as a leo vince so thats where i would start.

Also did you fit the o2 eliminator?

I ran with the lambda sensor still fitted for a week and wasnt impressed but after fitting the o2 a few days ago and plugging the lambda the bottom end is much better. A couple of places i phoned said they can map the bike without the o2 eliminator fitted.

Guys, u gotta get custom maps if ur fiddling with the PC... I would gamble that you may have lost power from stock.. Or at least messed with the curves.

Stump up 300 notes and get it on the dyno, also use a scrubbed tyre as it can square it off if your on it all day.

£300 where do you go for your set up? Swan Yamaha only charge £150 and ex Raceways guy where I got my race bike done was £120.

Yeah i had an ebay o2 eliminator fitted but a Dynojet 1 came with the power commander so i swapped to that. There was map on the disc for my exact set up so i got that loaded now.

i get paid next week so im booking the bike in with R.E.P.S in gwent for a custom map.

The bike pulls strong from take off now so im very happy , had a bit of a flat spot as it took o before at about 3500 / 4000. Cant wait to get the map done thou

Yep that flat spot is much better with the can and PCV fitted

Only problem I find with the downloaded map is if you crackthe throttle open from dead it bogs down slightly

A custom map will get rid of that. I'm getting a map done when I'm next home.

Yeah same here , just waiting for pay day . Do you think its worth putting an aftermarket air filter in? May aswell if its being mapped. FastBikes magazine say a quality filter can make good results when everthing is all tuned and dialled in

I do usually fit them but they're probably not good value for money as the gains are very small. If your going Ti get one get it done before/while you custom map it for best results.

I have always uses pipercross or bmc. Bmc fit very nice as they're a solid plastic moulding rather than foam rubber like the pipercross

Most places are between £120-£150 for a custom map. Don't pay more than that

lol, I wish you had ridden my bike stock, then with the PCV (stock pipe) with stock map to see the difference.
then you could have ridden it with the LV pipe and corresponding map to see the difference again.
A custom map is by no means essential!

The word is an aftermarket filter makes no difference on this bike (assuming you're in a standard state of engine tune).

Iv been quoted 140 to get the bike dyno tuned so im taking it in next week . Ill post up the before nd after graphs to show if there was a real bennefit or not

From what has been posted on the american site it looks promising. 1 guy had a clear 20 HP flat spot wich was smoothed out

If there was a 20bhp gain there was something seriously wrong!

You will gain a couple if horsepower but its the way the bike will pick up and perform on part throttle etc which is where the improvements will be.
