Should I be concerned ??? from a typical Ebay waster offering to buy my S1000rr........ I gave him via mobile texting my bank account details and sort code plus sent him some pics of bike documents to enlighten the fact I was a genuine seller..... with him the promise of a deposit on the 23rd at 7am with the remainder upon collection..... I usually don't get taken in....but this twat had me cornered..... I know he cant access my account but should some password changes be the order of the day ??
might be worth a call to the bank as a warning - they may be able to put extra controls on. Explain what has happened and see what they suggest. Take a note of the name of the person you speak to and time of the call 'just in case'
only for piece of mind... in theory they cannot do anything but pay into your account. they'd need DOB, Id, bill or account knowledge to remove any funds.
live and learn mate, no matter how experienced and street wise we are, they'll always be someone of the opposite end of the spectrum devising ways to get one over....
At the end of the day every cheque has the same details on it. Would be more concerned about the pics of the bike docs. Did it include Address and VIN?
More concerned about the docs myself mate! If it was the v5 etc he now has all the info he needs to either clone the bike or even steal it and sell it on
Your bank details at that level are all but worthless, without more details in depth. He'll be a tyre kicker, If your password isn't Strong well for peace of mind change it for a really strong one. Good Luck, ............Mike.
Repsol I would put your bike somewhere else to be on the safe side until the heat wears off or you sell bike on these scum bags will wait because that's how they work, never ever let anyone view your bikes at home arrange to meet somewhere ,I have sold plenty of bikes and never had anyone come to my house as I trust no one where my bikes are concerned I have only four but I have worked hard to get them to let some troll to come along and expect to take it
Have got this guys number if anything happens..... you would struggle to get her out anyhow...... so not worried about attempts...... CCTV and locks and vehicles to move....... so its a lot of hassle....
Be more careful repsol next time some people ain't as trusting as yourself some scum out there, prob used a mobile phone not registered payg
With the level of info you've provided it is possible that someone could attempt a direct debit fraud, basically setting up a dd from your account to one that they control, unlikely as its a rare (ish) fraud and the receiving party needs a thing called a sun number to validate their account but if they're hammering a load of accounts at the same time then it can earn them a shed load of money which usually disappears straight away into the vast lawlessness of Western Union. Watch for any odd dd's from your account, but on the plus side you're covered for any losses incurred by the dd guarantee. As I say though it's rare and because the banks know its possible they have monitoring in place to watch for patterns of debit requests being set up at the same time for a single destination account.
its all sorted BMW being picked up tomorrow.......that twat lost out as he texted again last night and was told bike sold....... he said he was disappointed as he agreed a deal and I said after 81 texts Monday night he blew it with no 400 deposit next day in my account.............. knob if you ask me...... anyhow new year new project !!
