Who shall i get to do my Valve Clearance Check on my bike - think im near 17K on the clock..

Who should i get this done from? as i wanted the bike taken apart and put back properly..is a Honda dealer advisable? if so how much should it cost?

Also is there anything else i should have done at the same time?

Arthur would be my first choice in that neck if the woods, and get a bike company to deliver/collect it, or as you won't be riding it just leave it until you are.

Was considering seeing if he had space/time to do mine but it is too long a round trip for me.

I'm tempted to check these myself on mine as apparently they don't often need doing at 16k... But if they do I'd get someone like Arthur to do the work as I'd want to know it's been done 100% and nothing missed.

Im doin the rest of the 16k servicing myself

I did mine myself and glad I did because the only problems I found were those caused by my local dealer when I had some crash bungs fitted. These were the no cut variety and need the fairings off and the radiator released. I had trim clips missing and damaged, locking tabs that were forced to fit by bending the plastic and worst of all a sheared bolt on the crash protection.
I rectified all of these problems and did a good job of cleaning up the engine, cleaned & re-oiling my BMC filter, fitted new plugs and new quality coolant whilst putting it all back together. Would the dealer done any cleaning or rectifying the other issues? I doubt it. Forgot to add fitting HM Plus SS quick shifter.

How hard did u find it? Did they need adjusting?

Main dealers are rip offs, you think going to them will all be be perfect when in fact really isn't! And leaves a big hole in you're pocket!!

The hardest part is getting the cam cover off and back on its so tight in the frame and you're conscious that its about £50 for a new gasket if you knacker it up. I had two exhausts and one inlet just on the limit to be honest. I don't think I would attempt re-shimming if they were out. I followed the instructions I found online to do the whole process Valve Clearance Inspection - CBR1000RR8 DIY
