So does anyone know whether it is a requirement to have a back brake?? In over 20 years of biking I've never once used the back brake so I'm thinking of removing it...

if your racing in s/stock spec then yes you need to have one,you could run a thumb brake in conjunction, but the original m/c+lever has to be there aswell.and as jay says, rear brake helps when you "DO" go grass tracking...

Im attempting to fit my new Lightech rearsets and up like the ones that were on they don't seem to have a spring on the brake side for returning the brake peg after its engaged and no mention of it in the instructions, is this normal??

it doesn't need to have one,the pressure on the M/C should be enough as long as there is plenty of free movement from the lever

U should get a set for around £300 off In Front Motorcycles or Parkitt at a Track Day or Race Meet.

James at In Front is based in Chester if you fancy a waz over, I'm sure he'll do ya a deal!

www.ifm-moto.com | In Front Motorcycles Ltd

I'm paying £300 fitted for the Pirelli Superbike Slicks new, but I have a stash of Scrubs to get through first.

To be honest Mate I'd fit some Sport Touring Tyres to start off the Track Day season in late February (assuming you'll be joining us) as Temps are low for a few months so (Grippy in the Sun/Slippy in the Cold) K2's etc are not an ideal tyre for that time of year.

Better getting your eye in and used to your new bike with a tyre that's got predictable grip in colder weather and save the other tyres till it warms up in April/May
