i wouldn't bet against it,it just takes a bit of time, and no doubt you'll have a lot of tracktime this year. be suprised if jase doesn't do it nextr month tbh....
Don't think it'll be too hard at all mate, as scoob says.... Track time is key and looks like you will have plenty. No more than 3 days (for a man of your calibre) if you are prepared to hang it out lol
I do hope your ready for a little soul searching at times aswell matt, when things go wrong, bike fails, your not as quick as you think you are ,and then ultimately you crash, cause if your pushing, you will crash.question is,how well do you bounce?
Here is the link to the event to book, Events List Its £49 - I was going to book novice, I'll be on Trigger and while I'd normally go inters last experience there mid Feb was not good, with inters full of inconsiderate idiots / racers cutting me up at what felt like every opportunity This is what happened with HotTrax last year, Thankfully this event is NoLimits, so I will book into inters. I really need to get my own car with a towbar or find a better van hire option where I can hire for a day and drop it off after the event. Feedback on Vimeo
Great post and advice mate.... Matt is getting on one hell of a roller coaster lol... Amazing highs but plenty of lows too!
Would have to agree, great advice Scooby and I'm more than prepared for the lows, even Valentino Rossi fell on the very first corner of his sighting lap on his very first race...
Just try to enjoy it and not concentrate on times. It's hard to to I have been. But just for the start try not to cause it will come. .ul push till u crash then just as u was gonna win lol. What is all this 1:50 oulton lark. Is it like under a 50 at brands .?
Not really mate, think sub 50 at brands is harder, but 1.50 at oulton is a respectable time and a bit of a milestone apparently. I joked with jase that I'd do it 1st time out (in dry as done a couple sessions in pissing wet on another day on racetecs) which he said if I did he'd do a length of the paddock naked! Feck me did I try hard. But fortunately for everyone else. Jase saved his modesty
never been so glad to see someone not get under a 50,it would have scarred me for life!!!!. scott,it's just the same as any other track,it's just 1 of those times to aim for.it took me a fair while to do it,and then when you do (t with me at least) times just tumble, went from a yr of 50 flats,to 2nd session 49,to 4th session 47.it's just like getting your knee for the 1st time, build it up for ages, then when you do,you just seem to do it without even thinking. saying that,i really struggled on the beemer to get under, only just ito the 49's,and that wasn't every outing, but this yr,if I'm not nearer a 45 i'll be upset.
I'll stick my neck out if no-one else will........Sorry Matt but I don't think you've a cat in hell's chance of getting to 1.50 in three trackdays. It took me all last year to knock 4 seconds off the 2 minute mark and the more you knock off the harder it gets! Don't get me wrong 'cos I'll be dead chuffed if you do. I don't know anyone else who is so focused or has such an amazing battle plan. Prove me wrong, I'll be the first to congratulate you.
Depends what he's done before and how confident he feels on the Zx. I got on a blade first time I rode a thou and did 1:40 at cadwell I think and that was within twelve or so laps
I hear you Steve and you could well be right but i will try my hardest. Its 3 full dry days i need and i always try to look for the positives. 1. I've already hit the 2min mark after just 3 20min sessions on a cold damp track. 2. since then my fitness is 100x better. 3. Quick shifter fitted. 4.QAT fitted. 5. Track tyres fitted. 6 Gearing changed. Just suspension and a few small tweaks and i should be there, ready... I need a plan to stay focused and i need to hit my targets....
From your post Scott, sounds like you've ridden a six round Cadwell before the thou. Matt's done one trackday round Silverstone.......End of!! Unless he's sandbagging of course!
