So, I've just stripped and cleaned my brakes and replaced lines (Hel), pads, bolts etc, but I'm going to have to start doing further maintenance and improvement works. Should I buy a Haynes manual or is there a better alternative? Is there an official workshop manual? Also, I've not been able to bleed much firmness into my rear brake. It does brake, but has more travel than before. Pads are the same for now, but new braided line and HRC tube reservoir fitted. I'm pretty sure that I got all the air out but is trapped air the only possible answer? Cheers, RW
Here you go mate this should help it's the 05 honda workshop manual https://www.dropbox.com/s/ya3o56jftzbfsbn/Honda CBR 1000 RR 2005 Manual.pdf?dl=0
trapped air dude. my rr6 was the same when i did mine. just keep bleeding conventional way, if it sorts it fine, but if it dosnt, just crack the banjos and continue to bleed. just another tip, be sure to depress the brake pedal fully, as wen u r pressing by hand, you sometimes dont get the full travel like you would do if you were using your foot. hope this helps
Ive got a massive syringe i use with one of them bleeder tubes.. I cut the valve thingy off the end and attached the syringe and i suck everything through while slowly working the lever and then tighten the bleed nipple while keeping pressure with the syringe, if that makes sense !
